Sarge’s 2nd Annual Pictures with Santa Fundraiser is coming again on December 14th to Frog Level Brewing Company! Last year we saw over 50 families in 2 hours and it was such a fun time.

From 4pm-6pm come and get cute pictures of/with your pet(s)!

Rickey is one of our rockstar dogs here at Sarge's! He plays wonderfully with other dogs, walks great on the leash, and loves his people. He is eager to please and excels with training. He has been through basic manners class with our friends at Behavior Tales and is eligible for Canine Good Citizenship certification once adopted!

He came from a rough start but has grown into a wonderful young man with us. He is so sweet you would not believe the rough condition he was found in. He was abandoned in a house and left on his own. Since he was left alone, he is very curious once he is in a house. He strives to be a good boy and will do anything for a treat. Rickey is super playful with other dogs, he loves to chase, play, and wrastle. We even use him as a helper dog here for our more awkward dogs, so they can gain confidence and learn to play! ❤️Meet Carolina❤️
Carolina has been in a foster home for the past couple of months and has truly blossomed. She came to us completely shut down, frozen in her kennel, too scared to even lift her head up. Her amazing foster mom had the patience to show Carolina that the world can be fun and people are not here to hurt her.

Carolina is house trained, plays great with other dogs in the yard, is great on the leash, and does not chase cats, chickens, or squirrels. She is the perfect size at 40 lbs (maybe a little chunky but we don't judge!) and is almost 1.5 years old. She would prefer to be the only dog in the house and have all the love to herself.😉 Outside of the house, she is playful and friendly with other dogs. She is a quiet, sweet girl who is still timid; loud noises, sudden movements, and men in hats are things that she is learning are not out to get her! She loves routine and really looks forward to going for walks and romping around the yard. She also loves cuddling up and taking a nap with her person. 🎉 A Heartfelt Thank You to The Catamount School! 🐾

We are beyond grateful for the incredible generosity and compassion shown by The Catamount School! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of students, staff, and families, over 300 items were donated to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation! 🐶🐱

Your kindness will go a long way in helping animals in need, providing them with food, toys, and much-needed supplies. It’s heartwarming to see a community come together to support such a wonderful cause, and we are so proud to be a part of it.

A special thank you to ALL of our fosters who are caring for animals that need them, day and night. Your willingness to give a calm, loving, and warm place to be outside of the shelter allows them to find forever homes so much faster.

This is sweet little Abby Q with her foster mom Melanie and her foster pack! She is happy as a clam plus loving all of the attention and comfy places to lay her head 🥰

Hi everyone, My name is Tav! I am a very good dog.
I’m about 3 years old and have been at Sarge’s for a long time now. Before I came to Sarge’s, someone was very mean to me. Even though the people at Sarge’s have been super kind, I am still scared of new people and sudden noises. I’m especially scared of some men. I’ve come a long way and have many friends among the staff and volunteers at Sarge’s. I love going for walks and hikes and have gained a lot of confidence. When I meet someone new, I come to trust them much more quickly than I used to. I am proud of myself because even when I’m very scared, I am never aggressive towards people.
A nice lady that volunteers at Sarge’s has taken me home for a few sleepovers. On the first visit I couldn't relax for several hours. On my next visits I got comfortable a little faster than last time, but it still took some time. I heard my friend say that, in someways, I’m the best dog ever. I have never tried to get on the furniture and view a partially closed door as a “do not enter” sign. Plus, I’m very quiet. She thinks I’ve spent time indoors, but probably lived mostly outside. She takes me out frequently so I don’t have accidents in the house. She doesn’t have a fenced yard, so when she needs to take care of things and cannot keep an eye on me I go in a crate and wait quietly until she is done. At night, I stay in the laundry room and have gone 8 hours without an accident.
I have included some pictures taken at my friend’s house. You can see how handsome I am resting, playing and sleeping...I rest so much easier when I’m away from the shelter!
While I love visiting my friend, I really need a place with a securely fenced-in yard…but not an invisible one. If I get scared, an invisible fence would not stop me from running away. With a fenced yard, I could get out and run and play. But I’d still like to spend some time inside with my human friends.
If you have the patience to work with me and want to give me a better life than I’ve had so far, please come see me at Sarge’s!! I would love to find my forever family.
So I am Tav. And I am a very good dog.
