His love for cats never ceases to amuse me 🥰 #dogs #doglover #kittens #cat #dogtraining
Tracking remains one of my favorite phases! Natural ability at its finest!!! #doglover #dogs #trackingdog #schutzhundtraining #dogtrainersofinstagram
**UPDATE!**
Cheeto has been adopted into a perfect family with another high energy female Heeler mix and they are getting along beautifully 🥰🥰!!! Could not have asked for a better home for him!
We are looking for a foster or adoption for this handsome boy, Cheeto! He has just finished 60 days of training and has come so far!!
Cheeto is a young adult about 70lbs. He would make a great active pet and enjoys hiking. He has an amazing nose in him and would possibly excel with some scent or tracking work!
He is crate trained and will lay in it with the door open. Not destructive at all. He enjoys playing with other dogs, has been good around cats, does not seem too interested in the horses, and has done great with my 12yr old child. He has a pretty solid place command and stay, knows sit, down, spin, roll over and heel. He has some off leash training started as well and a great recall! Enjoys riding in the car and has done well in new areas. He is still very interested in other people and dogs but listens to his commands, just needs continued exposure to the big world out there!
Please share his info and contact me if able to help in any way!
Texas is blessed for all the rain and I am incredibly grateful for the covered porch, think the dogs are too! 😊
“So now that you don’t work at the vet clinic every day, what do you do now?”
Well……. apparently I look like a weirdo in my yard while trying to distract dogs to proof their down stay. I am genuinely curious what people driving by are thinking 🤔 🤣😂
Ruger got his first try at AKC FCAT today and per usual it didn’t take him long to catch on to the game! 8.12 seconds in his first heat and 7.96 on his second hitting just over 25mph in each run! I think he had a lot of fun!
Thanks to Autumn, Katelynn, and Josh for handling help and support! It was a fun experience and I look forward to running again tomorrow 🤩
Happy Easter from my family and amazing pack of dogs!!!
When you overbooked the weekend but everyone got along so well and so you practice their sit/stay amongst all the chaos! 😂😅
IGP1 protection with Ruger, 77
The concept to this exercise is again focused on obedience but looks at a dogs ability to perform a bark and hold as well as work bites with a full grip and ‘out’ on command all while still maintaining focus on what the handler is asking of them (not always an easy feet with my high drive monster of a dog)!
IGP1 obedience with Ruger, 81
This looks at the handlers relationship with the dog who must follow very direct orders in formal heeling, sit/down in motions, recall, dumbbell retrieves, ’A’ frame, send out, and down stay.
IGP1 tracking with Ruger! 92
A 300 pace track is laid with 3 articles of different matietials placed (one between each leg of track and last one at the end). The dog is to track the exact foot print path that was laid, with nose down to scent, and most will indicate an article by laying down at it!
These were terribly muddy/soupy conditions making it a very difficult track but we did it and with a great score! 🥰
Roanix is a 6mo old Blue Heeler who has been with me for 3 weeks of her 30day board and train! She has been so much fun to work with!
When your tracking ground is horrible conditions and it is windy but your dog is tracking well….. of course the phone is going to fall over before catching the full track, lol. That is called karma for being too lazy to go get the tripod 🤦🏼♀️☺️
Sound sensitivity training at its finest!!! When your roof is getting done and it sounds worse than any hail storm experienced…. But, your dog has been exposed to a variety of loud and strange sounds since his amazing breeder started the process as a young pup and I continued to work on it through all his life stages! He is sleeping soundly while I am staring up at the ceiling waiting for signs of them busting through, lol
