Scoopin poop is nothing if it means getting to play with these hooligans all day. 🥰 🐶

A little evening play group before bed! We like to let the pups out for one more play time and potty break from around 9 pm - 10:30 pm so they don’t have to be stuck holding their potty for too long over night. It also helps them get that end of the day energy out so they can sleep well at night! ✨ Notice Ranger (the Alaskan Malamute) and Shelbe (the German Shepherd) trying to decide if they wanna play together or not. Shelbe approaches Ranger and initiates play, but he isn’t sure he wants to play, so he kicks his back legs out a few times to “mark” that area with his scent, letting her know that is HIS space and he doesn’t want it invaded. Shelbe sees that cue and tries again to initiate play with a bark and the play stance! But Ranger still isn’t about it. I say their names to get their attention and let them know to play nice, and when Ranger backs up into play stance, he’s ready to play! 🙌🏼 Understanding dog behavior and communication is a critical part of our jobs - especially knowing when there is appropriate social corrections happening versus a potential fight. These dogs wouldn’t have physically fought from this, but it’s important to intervene anyway to help every dog feel comfortable and safe. ♥️

We love a good deep clean! 🧼 It’s so satisfying to watch the pressure washer at work!
