Willow working on longer stays on place. She doesn’t like it when I get too far from her and we have been working on breaking this down into smaller steps until this point. Willow has been a fun addition to the training group. She definitely adds a different energy.

Why would a lab breeder and gundog trainer take on a small breed like this for obedience training? It’s a challenge! Willow is going to make me a better trainer in the long run. We always train the dog in front of us, but her size does change some of the ways I do things.

When a mama dog is nursing, keeping her puppies safe is the top priority. That’s where the whelping box comes in—one of the smartest inventions I’ve ever seen: internal rim designed to protect the puppies from accidentally being squished when mom lays down.

Funny enough, four days before Roxy delivered, she decided the last rim looked tasty and altered it a bit! 😳 So, Heath ran to Home Depot, grabbed some PVC pipe, and had a brand-new one built in no time. Problem solved!

It’s always amazing to watch a mother dog care for her pups, and little things like this make the whole process even more of a miracle. Stay tuned for puppy updates soon! 🐾❤️

It’s wild how different it is to go to a pet supply store as an owner of a dog training bussiness vs just being a regular dog owner. The aisle full of toys! Out of all these toys, Heath actually found one he would buy. Ok maybe 3. But what really stood out was the treat stand. It’s like a whole marketing strategy designed to play on our human emotions, making us think our dogs are little humans, too.

But here’s the thing: as much as we love our pets, we need to remember that dogs are dogs, not people. And when it comes to our wallets, it’s important to keep that in mind!

We are bare basic dog trainer’s if you buy a pup from us or train we also help guide you in purchasing just what a dog needs. No more, no less. Heath recommends: leashes, ecollar based on your needs, dog food, dog beds, & even supplements if needed. We strong feel over the life time of the dog we will save you the training cost or pup price just by sticking to the basics.

Caitlin, on one of her rare occasions to pump her own gas, struck up a conversation with a young man from Minnesota who was guiding in Texas for the winter. It’s not often you see a pickup with an 8 carrier dog box roll up to them pump.

He trains English Pointers and works for Three Arrows Hunting Preserve back home. What a delightful young gentleman. Picture in the comments with James.

The final black male from the 2025 Diesle x Roxy litter will be available for bidding at the 14th Annual Black Dog Charity Event, taking place on April 25th at The River Ranch in Stockyards.

How is Uncle Pesky handling the new litter?!? Like the boss he is. Heath slept on the cot the night of delivery & Pesky kept it warm during the day. Here he is napping close to the litter today. He’s clearly a huge part in all this. 😃😁🤦🏻‍♀️😆🤭

Roxy has been in labor for over 12 hours, and so far, we have nine beautiful pups on the ground! There may be more to come, but only time will tell. We’re all a bit exhausted and have lost count of F/M fur color count at times, as Roxy is being such a wonderful mama, keeping her little ones close.

What we do know is that we’ve accounted for all deposits received, thus far. Stay tuned for updates!
