Class IV laser therapy!

This foal was a couple days old when they found it hung up over a wire fence. Pressure necrosis of the entire groin with sloughing all the way to the abdomen. Beware the beginning pictures are disgusting. Injury happened April 1 last photo taken April 21- 20 days for almost complete healing of a wound which I gave little chance of the foal even surviving.

As most of you Texans may know by now I am officially retiring! I want to thank all my loyal clients and friends from the last 18 years it’s been a heck of a ride! My body and soul both say I need to get out while I still can and we all know at my current injury rate just in the nick of time 🤣.

The dog kids, Reed and I will be headed to Maui the first of July.

Our last day of Texas work will be June 24th. As you know Parker county is lucky to have multiple equine veterinarians. I will be bringing by some options whom I feel may fit each of your needs. Stay posted for updates.

Updated pictures and results:
14 days post injury we removed the sutures and the would had Healed magnificently! This wound had a huge amount of tension on the stitches and normally I would expect a minimum of half the stitches to pull out in an active yearling.

Class IV Lasar therapy for the win!

This one got in a wreck with a gate. Fingers crossed and lots of Lasar therapy we hope it will stay together. There is a big amount of tension on the sutures so we use buttons to keep it from tearing thru the skin.

Coggins and health papers!! Cutters all horses entering the show grounds have to have a coggins and health paper...no skating through even if your not showing like in the past. Ropers and rodeo peeps remember Las Vegas requires a coggins within 6 months!
