‼️ Temporary Hour Changes 5/16 - 5/23 ‼️

Dr. Wolgamott will be out of the office these days. Kara, our Registered Veterinary Technician, will be taking appointments for current patients only during this time for basic appointments - this does not include sick or emergency visits.

We will be closed on Monday, May 26th in honor of Memorial Day. We will proceed with normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27th.

Spaying and neutering is beneficial for both canines & felines, especially with the overpopulation issue we see with strays & shelter animals. We all have heart eyes for our April Pet of the Month, Jed ❤️😍

Jed comes into our clinic ready to love and kiss on everyone he comes across. He is a sweet little cuddle bug and loves attention, which we will gladly give him. We are thankful his family trusts us with his care, it is a joy to know this handsome boy!

‼️ Attention ‼️

We have been requiring the canine influenza vaccine for over a year now for our boarding facility, but now that it has made its way into the Weatherford territory we are buckling down & requiring it for every patient that is boarded or groomed at Heartland Animal Hospital.

Your dog must be up-to-date on the influenza vaccine in order to receive these services. That includes the booster vaccine, which is given 3 weeks after the first injection. After that, it will be updated yearly.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during this time. We want what’s best for your pet & by requiring this protocol, we can better protect your dog and those around them.

Give us a call at 580-772-7297 to schedule your pet’s influenza vaccine. If you use a different veterinary office, bring us records of the flu vaccine given prior to your groom or boarding appointment & we will put that on your medical record.

Canine Influenza has officially been reported in Weatherford, OK and contracted from our local dog park.

We highly recommend all dogs that visit populated areas to get vaccinated. This will help lessen the symptoms of those that are exposed. Influenza may lead to pneumonia, which can be life-threatening.

Dog flu infects nearly all exposed dogs, with 80% of them showing symptoms. Your dog may appear healthy but can still spread the dog flu, so that being said we highly recommend avoiding dog parks as of right now. You never know if the dogs around you have been vaccinated or not, so better to be safe than sorry.

Those that go to boarding and grooming facilities should be vaccinated for this disease at least 2 weeks prior to their visit.

March’s Pet of the Month is the most well-mannered Blue Heeler, Jack Jack 🖤💙.

Jack comes to board with us frequently and knows right where to go in the kennel, normally he is actually the one leading us the way back there. Heelers can be temperamental at times, but Jack’s owner did a great job socializing him & he’s a lover boy to everyone at Heartland Animal Hospital. We love seeing this handsome boy at our clinic 🩵
