Road to the Futurity 2024 - Everyone always wants to know, "Are you ready for it?" Are you ready for the Snaffle Bit Futurity? Byron said, "I am ready because it's my job; to be ready, so I stay ready. I choose to not walk in fear; but that doesn't mean there isn't pressure. I use the pressure and turn it into energy and I keep at it everyday. You have to be ok with expecting the unexpected." At Hogan Equine we have been sharing the story of three cowhorses who are preparing to go to the Snaffle Bit Futurity this October. In January, we started sharing a monthly update of each horse. Byron has a love for cowhorses, their athleticism and versatility. We hope by letting the public in and sharing the story the public can enjoy following the progress of the horses and experince with us the ups and downs of the journey to the showpen. The change happens... Thursday's Thought 🐴🤔 Those of us that ride horses, train horses, show horses we know that training happens over a period of time. It's a series of micro actions you take every day, that allows the muscle memory to create change over time; for both you and the horse. Most people don't see it or even realize what you are doing. It's true that small repeated actions over time is what creates a dramatic change. We all want to "see" when the curve skyrockets and you make a big change and there is success, but that's truly just an outcome of the work you put in over time. That work doesn't always look good, big, successful or sometimes even promising. However, we know that if you keep on going and keep on training for the goal you are aiming at you will get there! Don't get discouraged in the drudgery, it's just a part of the journey. Been used outside in extremely rough country, gathered cows, drug calves to the fire, a real all terrain vehicle. Great on trails, literally ridden by grandma! He's been shown lightly in Ranch Riding and Ranch Versatility. Good to bathe, clip, and shoe. Had lots of professional training.
