Beautiful day for calving!
Calves have been blown dry, some of the colder ones got coats. All bedded down out of the snow and wind!

Girls for the win 🏆

This little heifer wouldn't have made it being born in a 35 degree thunderstorm. Eastern Oklahoma is notoriously wet in the winter, and makes for challenging calving when these barely above freezing rainstorms come through.

For folks that don't know, Braunvieh come from the Swiss Alps and adapted to wide temperature fluctuations in the mountains. Residing in Oklahoma we definitely get temperature swings!
1 of several traits this breed has going for it. It's going to be in the 60's next week and they'll be fine in that weather too.

1st calf heifers getting it done. Checkout the purebred white heifer. Been trying to get an Angus black purebred and we have accidentally made white purebred 🤷🏾‍♂️

Our first 4KR Pinto calf is on the ground. Good looking bull calf out of a heifer.
Sidenote: this is one of the heifers in the National Sale that didn't sell. Somebody missed out!
