A good samaritan brought in a stray cat they found who appeared to be hit by a car. Her back was broken, and we euthanized her to relieve the immense suffering she was in.

She is a young female grey and white short-hair. If you believe this may be your cat, please let us know.

***ALL GONE*** IF YOU ARE WITH A HURRICANE RELIEF GROUP AND YOU CAN USE SMALL CRATES OR AIRLINE CRATES WE WILL DIG MORE OUT. CALL THE SHELTER***
We have an abundance of crates that we would love to share with anyone in need!
They are sitting in our front parking lot, help yourself! No holds

Update: Crates are all small in size (cat/small dog and smaller), our first call is always to other shelters and rescue groups. We checked with groups involved in hurricane relief, they took a few, but really need large crates, unfortunately we do not have those to spare. Thank you for all the responses, we appreciate how much the community steps up to help others out! 🐾🥰

**Do not pick them up for scrap!

Did you know, bats are the most common source of exposure to Rabies? Since they often get into homes, it's important to keep even indoor cats and dogs vaccinated. If you find your pet playing with a bat, contact us immediately. Do not let the bat go outside or throw it away, since it should be tested for Rabies.

The bat, found in Brighton, is the first rabies-positive animal identified in Livingston County this year.
