Proud trainer moment.
I promised Ben I would teach him rifle at our next training. Today was that training. As a trainer you only get one opportunity for an initial imprint. That is why it is so important to focus on the process. We were able to transition pretty rapidly from never shooting rifle from a horse before, to shooting like a seasoned rifle shooter.

Great Job Cowboy!
Good Friday morning to all!! We are going to try and hold practice tomorrow, Saturday the 16th, from 9am to 1pm. The cost is $15.00, and you BYOA (Bring your own ammo). Please be AWARE that RAIN is forecasted, and we will try to practice between rain drops, if at all possible. If you can not make tomorrow's practice, we do have another one scheduled for the 23rd of December from 9am to 1pm. Thank you, and keep riding safe!!
Best Regards,
XHI Staff

Bucket list!
This young lady drove up from Davie Florida because she had a bucket list of wanting to do cowboy mounted shooting.
We started her out on Drifter to start and then let her walk the stage on a three-year-old stud cult that's in here for training named Remington.
This is the video of a dream coming true
We practiced the arrow patern today.

Ben getting it done one target at a time. The great part is we needed to introduce his horse to shooting as well and now to make them a team.
First time shooter, cowgirling up
This is Ben. Ben has rode the trails, but never done any arena riding. His first lesson he learned to move with the horse, Drifter and shot from his back. Today at the end of his lesson I took this video.
Note: this is his first ever mounted shooting run. He is riding Oops.

First time shooting an AR-15
Afterwards he said, same size as a .22 caliber? I said yes sir. A .22 is .220 an AR-15 is .223
5.588mm = .22" caliber you had as a kid.
5.56mm = .223" the caliber of the AR-15
After shooting it he said, I expected alot more than that.
Media and politicians love to cause fear.
It makes a quarter of an inch hole. They are Semi-automatics which means you must squeeze the trigger each shot.
The other huge misconception is, AR stands for Assault Rifle or Automatic Rifle. ( just Google it)
Morning would start out like this.

Photos and horse time can scheduled for sunrise.
Do you call it horse training or dog training.
