Another rare and stunning species kept at the store is this remarkable pair of Hawk-headed Parrots (Red Fan Parrots). These beauties originate from the Amazon Rain Forest and when they feel threatened or alarmed they will raise their nape feathers to form a fan.

April 8th, ahh the big solar eclipse in the afternoon. When it happens, it'll be dark for a few minutes. Before leaving the house and your pets alone, leave a light on for them. It gets dark every night, they're used to it, and we usually suggest a night light for your birds anyway. They'll be fine. They aren't listening to all the hype on TV or the local meteorologist who have been cramming this down our throats for the past three months. Light on, and they should be fine. Honestly it's only a few minutes.
