Leadership Randolph County AL

Leadership Randolph County AL Leadership Randolph County is a community leadership development program. Program participants meet once a month from September through May.

Its mission is to better equip individuals to achieve goals for the benefit of the individuals and the community. Through education, awareness, and networking, Leadership Randolph County lays a foundation for the development and enhancement of leadership potential. To represent a cross section of the community, Leadership Randolph County brings together a diverse group in terms of race, sex, and o

ccupation. Participants need not share a common age, lifestyle or career--only a vision for the future of Randolph County. Past participants have toured the R.L. Harris Dam, the Randolph County Jail, the animal shelter, museum, and visited our state capitol. There are interesting places to visit each month. At the end of the program year, a graduation ceremony is held each May recognizing the program graduates. The class also participates in a group project that benefits a worthy cause in Randolph County. The cost of the program is $250 per participant and is due by the September meeting. Participants paying their own tuition may contact LRC Alumni President Carol Knight to apply for a $100.00 scholarship available through the LRC Alumni group. For more information concerning the program, contact Tiffany Moore at the Randolph County Extension Office (256-357-2841), Dorothy Tidwell at The Randolph County Chamber of Commerce (334) 863-6612, or Marty Kirby at SUSCC at (256) 395-2211.

In October, Leadership learned about our city and county government plus had an enjoyed a wonderful trip to the RL Harris Dam to understand how we receive electricity.

November followed up with a joint class with Youth Leadership for Justice Systems day. We started at the Wedowee Fire Station and heard from the Wedowee Fire Chief, Fire Association, Rescue Squad, and Sheriff Department. We also toured the Randolph County Jail and finished with a visit to the Randolph County Courthouse to hear from the Circuit Clerk, Probate Judge, District Judge, and Community Corrections. Youth Leadership also heard from the District Attorney regarding social media dangers.
