It’s official - just arrived in the mail: New AKC Champion CH Three Creek Topsfield-Lebrerra Sueno de Chocolate (aka Dreamer). Great job Dream Team!!! Kerri A Fulkerson Matt Hess with Claudia Orlandi and Guillermo González. On to the field!!!

Three Creek friends and family - have a few things to share and also asking help.

1) Basset Hound Club of America nationals are at the end of this month at Purina Farms. The field trail events will be at the Eastern Missouri Beagle Club near Silex. Several Three Creek hounds will be competing. Plus Thursday Aug 31 our hounds will be doing a pack demonstration on the fly field at Purina Farms. Please come out and support if you can. Livery is optional since it will likely be around noon and a typical warm Missouri August day. Will need confirmation of who can whip-in. There is not a definite time as it will follow completion of the bitch conformation judging.

2) Our AKC Field Champion girl, Melba, has been in Vermont for the past several months at the Topsfield Bassets kennels for a romantic interlude with Dual Champion Topsfield-Lebrerra Goodbye Mr Chips (Chips). The fantastic news is that Ms Melba is expecting but the bad news is she is due Aug 24-26, smack in the midst of BHCA Nationals, when everyone will be in St Louis. So far we have arranged for a very competent facility in the St Louis area to attend the delivery, but we need to get Melba here the week prior so she can settle in for a safe and comfortable delivery. We have a way to transport her as far as So Michigan approximately the 15th of August, and are looking for a volunteer who would be able to assist transporting her MI to STL. Laura will be in Ireland at this time and Lei is in Alabama. Anyone who has an idea or willing to help, please let us know, or send a PM to Lei Ruckle.

FYI - here is a link to the Topsfield website. They have a beautiful facility and legacy of top hounds, including Westminster champions. http://www.topsfieldbassets.com/. If you have the time to browse their site, take note under their Breeding Program section where it is mention that their foundation is based on three foundation strains - one of which is Strathalbyn. And as you all know the Three Creek Bassets were originally the Strathalbyn Bassets, so this joint breeding venture comes a full nearly 40-year full circle. Stayed tuned for updates and puppy pics!! And anyone that can help with transport, please let us know asap.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the end of the month. Anyone that can come out Sat or Sun Aug 26&27 to help with the field trials are more than welcome!!

Three Creek hounds were stellar this last week at the spring trials in Aldie VA!! And we had an awesome team there to support. Mark your calendars now for 26-29 October for the fall trials and cheer on our pack.

Well, another Spring Basset Hunt Trial has come to a close. Laura reported that they were so-so in the 5 Couple hunt yesterday. They entered Kazoo, Nala, Sherry and Ian in the 2-hour Stake hunt this morning and TCB Kazoo took 3rd Place. Our other hounds didn't place, but they weren't pulled early either.
Ala in all, it was a great trial, with our pack bringing home some silver and the blue ribbon in the 3 Couple Hunt!

Keep an eye on your email, as the directions for this coming Sunday's hunt at Dog Trot Farm will be going out.

It's almost here! The Three Creek Bassets Gold Cup Field Day! This Saturday, March 18th, we will enjoy a fun day of hound and human activities, a wonderful brunch, awesome music, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and of course, our Silent Auction (a few photos are attached)!

We have an amazing raffle opportunity to win a two night weekend getaway stay in the Bridal Cottage at beautiful Overlook Farm in Clarksville. This is an amazingly peaceful retreat from busy city life! Its location has a breath taking view overlooking the Missouri River. Quite a treat!

This Sunday, March 12th, the bassets will be hosted by Cicardi & Susan Bruce. The hounds will cast in at 2pm. Ci & Susan will be providing a main meat and those attending are asked to bring an appetizer, side or dessert to share.

This coming Sunday, February 5th, is our annual Chili Bowl Hunt and potluck. We will be convening at the Three Creek Farm kennels. The hounds will cast in at 2pm. Laura asks that you kindly arrive prior to 2pm so as to not disrupt the hounds hunting along the driveway.

Salutations Basseters,

Tomorrow, Sunday, January 29th, we will be hunting at Wheatfield Cottage(located to the right of the Strathalbyn Farm entrance).

The hounds will cast in at 2pm. Please arrive earlier than 2pm to avoid disruption as the hounds are cast in.

Following the hunt, we will have a small tailgate and bonfire. Brats and hotdogs will be provided. Please bring a side dish or other tasty treat to share.
