National Pollinator Week is June 17 - 23. This initiative, promoted by The Pollinator Partnership, celebrates pollinators and spreads the word about what you can do to protect them. Approximately 75% of all flowering plants need help with pollination. This includes more than 1200 crops. That means roughly one out of every three bites of food you eat is there because of pollinators. You can help our local pollinator population. Reduce or eliminate your pesticide use and increase green spaces around your home. Create pollinator-friendly habitat with native flowering plants that supply pollinators with nectar, pollen and homes. Learn more at www.pollinator.org.
