For those who had guess a nerf ball, you were correct!

Yogi was presented to us last week for some lethargy, inappetence, and some vomiting. After running some diagnostics such as abdominal radiographs and bloodwork in house, we discovered Yogi had eaten a nerf ball the week prior! What a stinker!

Yogi was so brave and had his foreign body surgery with Dr. Skinner. He is doing great on his recovery and is slowly getting back to his spunky personality! We love you Yogi!

We were able to teach to parents and kids on how to do a physical exam on Wilbur who was honestly the star of our show. The kids were able to get some awesome prizes after the demonstration. Thank you to everyone who swung by to visit us! We appreciate your support!

Sometimes life can get really busy and trying to juggle it with a work schedule can make it difficult to get your pets in for the care they need!

We have now added, "Drop- Off Appointments" onto our schedule. These appointments include yearly wellness visits and specific medical exams that we have listed in our post below. Once a technician gets your fur baby checked in, they get to hang out with us for the day until you are able to pick them up!

Please give us a call or shoot us a text if this is something that works with your schedule!

To start off the New Year, we would love to announce our newest addition to our family.

This beautiful girl does not have a name yet 😉, but she is WVH's new hospital cat! She is so sweet and has so much love to give! She will be helping our staff on their toughest days and gracing us with her presence. We are so excited to see her grow into her personality. ❤🐾

If you ever want to say hi to her, please let our staff know and we would love to show her off!

Starting this year we are sad to announce that we are no longer providing overnight boarding services.

However we are excited to announce that our daycare program has opened up and we are taking in new daycare kids! The process is super easy. Give us a call to have an assessment set up by one of our daycare leaders and from there we can determine what kind of group your pup will fit in best.

We offer personalized play groups, themed parties/ activities throughout the year and different daycare packages at a discounted price. We can't wait to see some new faces this year!

Today is National Labrador Retriever Day!

Two pups we wanted to highlight today is Nova and Grizz! Nova recently came a few weeks ago for sneezing and coughing after running through a field. During one of her appointments she actually sneezed out the culprit causing her these issues! It was a first time for everyone that day! 🐾❤

Grizz was seen here last year for his TPLO surgery with Dr. Fick. He had an amazing recovery and is back out on his hunting grounds with his owners. Way to go Grizz!

We love all of our labs that come through the hospital and can't wait to see them this year!

As we are slowly making our way towards Christmas, we are excited to announce that we are teaming up with Larimer Humane-Society for a toy drive!

Depending on what items you bring in for the toy drive will determine how much credit we place on your account. The items below are considered priority items that the Humane Society are in need of.

One thing we would love to mention is that although we would love to take in all food donations for NOCO Humane, at this time they are specifically looking for UNOPENED Science Diet products.

If you have any questions or concerns on what items we can and cannot take, please click on this link below for more information: https://www.nocohumane.org/contribute-supplies/

In light of recent press releases regarding an enigmatic respiratory disease affecting dogs in the United States, our priority is to ensure the safety of our patients, as well as dogs in our boarding and daycare programs. Our staff is taking all necessary precautions to keep our facilities clean and maintain proper sanitation protocols.

While the root cause of the disease remains unknown, we recommend that all pets be up-to-date on core vaccinations, including Rabies, DA2PP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella. Additionally, we would like to highlight that Trupanion is hosting a live webinar tonight, featuring a panel of experts in internal medicine and neurology, who will be discussing the canine respiratory illness in greater detail.

At Wellington Veterinary Hospital, we care about the well-being of your furry companions and strive to keep them safe and happy.

Happy Howl-o-ween! 🦇🎃
Here are some ✨🍬Tips n' Tricks 🍬✨to keep your fur babies safe tonight:

Creating a safe and secure place: Noises associated with trick or treating (such as doorbells, knocking, or loud children) can be stressful for your pets. Creating a safe place ensures them to not dart out your door and helps lower their anxiety. In creating this safe place you can play calming music, put out their favorite toys, or give them a yummy chew to keep them distracted.

Keep Candy and Treats out of Reach:
Candy and treats may be delicious to us, but some of them can be dangerous to our pets. Make sure to keep chocolate or treats with Xylitol out of reach.

Please be safe and drop a photo below to share what you and your fur babies are doing tonight! 🐾✨🎃

We had a good samaritan bring this handsome man in from Rawlin, Wyoming. Our Story

Wellington Veterinary Hospital opened in 1999 on the west end of Cleveland Avenue where The Cakery currently resides. Our clients have amazed and awed us over the years, accepting our help and trusting us with their very special furry family members. From the beginning, we have been committed to bringing the best veterinary care.

Our clients are our friends and the WVH team has always gone above and beyond for them. As the Wellington community has grown, so have we to make sure that we are always available. We eventually outgrew our "first home" and moved into our current building on 6th street in 2008 which allowed us to expand our services.

Today, our community has access to veterinary care six days a week from a team of four doctors and more than 30 team members right here in Wellington.

Now 20 years later, our mission is still the same: Here you will be listened to, cared for and valued because you are why we do what we do!
