The hardest part of breeding is making those difficult decisions one has to make that are truly the best for the puppies and dogs we love so very much. 😢❤️
This is Hanzo…the last puppy here from our H litter. Orzi’s retirement litter. The last litter she will ever have 🥹…
We have debated for the longest time whether to keep him back for our program for a multitude of reasons. He’s got excellent structure, been a solid puppy in nerve, environmentals, and drives from the start, then there is the emotional side….Hanzo looks and acts SO much like his grandsire Nitro (our founding stud) that as he ages we just can’t seem to part with anything to do with him….
BUT…we have to be realistic on the number of dogs we not only can provide the best care for - but meet all of their physical, mental, training, and plain just being a dog needs.
We have a very promising female from this litter in a home where we can continue these lines should she meet the goals…so we have decided to place Hanzo and we found a wonderful match!
Selfishly I am glad he won’t be leaving until late January 😁 I know he will have the best life and all of the focus he deserves. Congrats my little love! 🧡

Friday vom Altvater aka Nacho Making his “rounds” in his local medical community. Nacho has been a guest off and on at the teaching hospital since he first arrived as a puppy. 🐾
He brings smiles out of the students, and I’m sure some of the staff when he’s around! 😁

Red collar boy, officially Hermes vom Altvater (call name Atlas) arrived safely to his new home in California last night. We are so grateful for his safe arrival and blessed to have placed him with the best match. Go be great my love ❤️

That stare makes some people nervous…it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This dog sees one’s soul with just a look and I love his judge of character.

So proud of all this boy has done and in the works over the past several months.
Ceiro (C litter/ Orzi x Kasch) earned his FO, has a PPD trial next weekend, then another WDA trial right after.
In between training and titling he also got pleasing results from the OFA.
His team is doing a fantastic job with him!

Happy Birthday to our Fendi aka Blackthorn’s Qida! 🥳💕🎉
I can’t believe she is already 2 years old 😱
She is a gem for sure 🥰
Was hoping to have her OFA’s done today but of course she is starting a heat cycle 🤪
Oh well what a couple more months? 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🙏🏼🤞🏼

2 males available from our H litter.
Original reservations had to be moved to a future litter for personal reasons, and we just haven’t felt great about the inquiries we’ve had thus far. 😕
The darker sable on the left shows promise for a sport/working home. We have (still do) seriously debated on holding him back for our own future, but are still open to the perfect placement.
The lighter sable male on the right has a great nose and nice drives, just not as intense and a nicer off switch and would make a better active companion. He is less strong willed and just easy going in general.
Both puppies have had 3 initial puppy vaccines, dewormed, socialized with safe/healthy dogs, and are fully crate trained and sleep a full 8 hours overnight.
They are 14 weeks old.

It’s always a stressful wait when holding back a female as a potential for your breeding program’s future 😱. So many hopes, yet so many unknowns and things that can change or go happen as they grow up.

We are super excited to say that after a long 2+ years Dolci vom Altvater has made the cut! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

She not only has more of what the breed needs as far as solid nerve, intensity, solid environmentals, drive, speed, and correct structure- she now has all the clear health tests we were hoping for 😊. DM- clear (Embark clear on all), OFA- Normal Elbows/Excellent Hips ❤️

Some puppies have made their way to their new homes, and others will make their trip shortly- we are approaching the empty nest phase. It’s bittersweet for sure but I can’t be happier with their placement - breeder moments of heart string tugs for sure 🥰

Play, and lessons with mom are always fascinating to watch- especially with an exceptional mother dog. It’s such an important part of their development when done right and to see their minds working and things click is one of nature’s many beautiful moments.
