Did you know that forage not only serves as nutrition but also acts as a prebiotic? Fibers have a prebiotic influence on the gut microbiota, which is essential for a healthy digestive system. The daily fiber content in your horse's ration already has a prebiotic effect, but you can also add extra fibers by using fiber-rich concentrates.

Adding additional fibers has benefits because it introduces different types of fibers that may not be present in your forage. This provides your horse with a more varied diet and promotes diversity in the gut microbiota, leading to a healthier digestion. For example, you can add alfalfa, beet pulp, bran, or various types of grasses to increase the fiber content and support your horse's gut health. 🐴✨
