We had a wonderful time at the Wells HarborFest yesterday, greeting dogs and dog lovers, and sharing our mission of funding a dog park for Wells canines.

The last 6 months our volunteer team has been hard at work! We have completed a report to the town select board, passed a vote to allow the town to negotiate a lease for land for the park and established a non profit organization to support the next phase of the work. Big Thanks to the 1,259 voters who supported the authorization to lease town-owned property for a future Wells Dog Park. Planning will continue at our next meeting June 21 at 6:00 PM at the Wells Public Library. Please join us if you can. All are welcome!

A giant "Thank you" goes out to Barbara Hall Dean for her foundations generous donation. The Friends of Wells Dog Park is now an officially registered organization and tax exempt with the IRS. Be on the lookout for our volunteers across town this summer as we move into our fundraising phase!

Thank you Charlotte and Bryan for speaking at the Wells Select Board meeting tonight. They spoke in support of the proposed lease agreeent for the Burnt Mill Road property needed to build a dog park. One more Select Board vote and then to the Wells voters in June. Thank you both for supporting a Wells Dog Park!

Tater from Wells, missing since 1/07/2022 is home Tater found himself shelter in someone's garage. He's hungry, a bit chilly but seems fine. Yay, Tater. We couldn't be happier for you.

Tater is missing from his home on Sanford Road in Wells. He was last seen running into the woods off Sanford Road. He is a 1.5 year old 60 lb brown & white mixed breed dog - wearing a patterned sweater and blue & orange collar (as seen in the photo).

Izzy is missing from her home on Littlefield Road. She is a one year old Brindle/Boxer/Terrier Mix wearing a blue & black collar. Izzy is a friendly dog, but as always we ask that if you see her DO NOT CHASE HER! Call Emily at 508-789-1036 with any information.

Thank you to our amazing float builders! The Friends of Wells Dog Park received an honorable mention, and the first $25.00 for fundraising!

Next meeting of the Dog Park Committee will be
Friday January 7,2022 at 1:00p at the Town Hall.

This is an open to the public meeting and any help is welcomed.

The first phase will be forming a non profit corporation and work with the town on a lease for property located at 762 Burnt Mill Road.

The second phase will consits of fundraising and design plans.

We had a float in today's Wells Maine Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade! It was a big hit, especially with all the canine spectators along the Parade route. Thanks to all the creative folks who put the float together.

We welcome you and your pups to walk alongside the Wells Dog Park float Sunday, December 12 at the Wells Christmas Parade.
Line up will be 1:00p and the parade begins at 2:00p. Who will have their pup dressed the most festive!
