To anyone interested in donating to the Veterinary Hurricaine Relief efforts here are some great options. All proceeds go to helping veterinarians which may include providing pop up clinics with supplies, medications, shelter, water, food as some areas suffered complete loss of veterinary hospitals and facilities to house pets and provide care to pets yet to be claimed by pet owners.

✨️TECH APPOINTMENTS✨️

NEW!
In an effort to get your pet(s) seen sooner we are scheduling Tech Appointments. Our assistants will be available to provide your pets quick services like annual vaccinations, injections, nail trims and blood work. This allows our doctors more time to see patients with more pressing ailments or those in need of their wellness exams. You may remain with your pet in exam rooms while our wonderful techs take great care of these easy items for you.

Please understand our techs are not allowed to diagnose or form treatment plans so if you have a concern about your pet you will need to schedule an appointment accordingly with one of our Doctors and not in a tech appointment.

Thanks for understanding and we hope you enjoy our efforts to reduce wait times for you and your pets!

Meet the Team!

We asked our new receptionist Katelin a few questions:

✴️ What is your favorite animal?
My favorite kinds of animals are cats and dogs! I’m biased because I have two of the cutest kitties in the world. Someday I’ll add a golden retriever or possibly a chihuahua mix, as I just met one that captured my heart!

✴️ Where would you like to travel?
I would first like to travel anywhere in Greece, or just Europe in general.

✴️ What pets do you have?
I have two domestic shorthairs between 1 and 1 1/2 years old. One is all black (Smokey Bear) and the other is gray and black with a few other colors (Teddy Bear).

✴️ Favorite hobby?
I love traveling to see family as much as possible, watching all of the Marvel movies I can with my husband, or doing my own gel x nails!

✴️What do you like best about working at Countryside?
So far I have just loved the environment! We are very busy, but always make sure to take excellent care of each and every patient. I’m very impressed at the quantity and quality of the services we provide. I feel proud working in a busy front office, helping pets get the best care they can get!

Katelin has been a wonderful addition to our reception team. Her smile is infectious and her compassion for your pets shows in everything she does.

Help us welcome Katelin to Countryside!!

Toxic Algae Bloom Rumors

There was a post that went viral on social media regarding algae blooms in the Columbia River and reports of pet deaths. We'd like to calm your nerves for the time being.

□ The original poster resides in Oregon not in our area.

□ Algae blooms are more common in lakes but still can occur in Rivers. Pet symptoms include drooling, gastrointestinal upset, liver disease and neurologic symptoms which can lead to death.

□ Please be diligent in keeping your pets from swimming in and drinking water that is green, murky, has a standing film on it or in areas confirmed with overgrowth.(use map link attached)

□ The closest area confirmed with levels of algae higher than acceptable is near Yakima (not the Columbia river) but reports may change daily.

We have had ZERO confirmed cases of sickness or death at this point but would like to keep it this way. If you worry, please keep your pet home till further reports from the Health District and State Veterinarian confirm the need to be worried of our local parks on our Columbia River.

You can utilize this resource map and contact the Chelan-Douglas County Health District if you have questions or need to report a potential algae bloom. Keep in mind the Map Legend which shows some degree of timeline of reporting.

Show Maggie some love! ❤️

This Spring Maggie presented for a routine dental cleaning and Dr. LeMoine found a large tumor growing from her tongue. Her dental was completed and we got the mass off. Our fears were confirmed when the results came back as melanoma. Oral Melanoma can be aggressive and is often found in the mouth. Maggie's family took her for a complete work up at WSU Oncology which showed no evidence of metastasis then returned for radiation treatment to kill any remaining cancer cells left behind on her tongue. She has done phenomenal!

Maggie just successfully completed her radiation protocol and is considered cancer free! We will continue to monitor her for any recurrence of cancer.

Radiation is an affordable option for many families as a follow up to surgery for cancer treatment. Turns out routine dentals save lives y'all!

Here you can see Maggie in front of the WSU Veterinary School proudly displaying her Cancer Survivor bandana!
