STAY COOL — Your canine companion trusts you when it comes to keeping them safe and comfortable. Don’t ever leave your pets in a hot car. Temperatures become deadly very quickly.

If you see a pet alone in a hot car, here are the steps to follow per Massachusetts State law —

1️⃣ Make a reasonable effort to find the owner.

2️⃣ Call the police, fire department, or animal control officer in your town.

3️⃣ Check for unlocked doors or open windows.

4️⃣ If the animal is in distress, you may enter the vehicle after following steps 1-3.

Stay with the animal until law enforcement arrives.
