People have asked me to keep them posted, so I wanted to give you guys an update update on my breast cancer journey. I had a lumpectomy surgery that went great on July 29th. Then on August 6th I had a postop appointment with my surgeon. She said everything is in the clear and she sees no need for further surgery. Next step is for me to start my radiation treatment on August 19th. That should probably last about four weeks.🤞🏻 Thank you to everyone that has kept me in your thoughts and prayers. It really has helped, and it means a lot to me. Please continue to pray for me as I go through my radiation treatment because I have a feeling this is not going to be easy from what the doctor is telling me. 🙏🏻💖✨✨✨

If you are wanting to add a new fur baby to your family, please consider adopting. So many great babies there that need a loving home. Wake County animal shelter is actually where I adopted my Miniature Schnauzer. He was a part of our family for 16 years before he passed away back in May. 

The WakeGov Pets: Wake County Animal Center is facing a heartbreaking situation – if space on the adoption floor isn’t freed up by adoptions, reclaims by owners, fosters or transfers to rescue partners, then the center will be forced to create needed space by euthanasia.

Currently, there are 579 animals in the care of the Animal Center, 342 at the center and the remaining in foster care. There are 12 cats, 88 dogs, 14 kittens, two puppies, two birds and two rabbits available for adoption. In foster, there are eight cats, 40 dogs, 28 kittens and one puppy available for adoption.

Everyone’s safety is my first priority. With that being said. Due to the weather conditions and flooding in parts of the surrounding areas, we will be CLOSED today Thursday 8/8. According to the city, the Animal Services Unit is also hosting a Dog Festival on Aug. 17 at the Best Friend’s Dog Park in Rocky Mount.

Girl Scout troop 3307 has a pet supply donation box setup in our lobby. Please come help them fill the box. All donations are going to the Wake County SPCA. Donations are being accepted until August 20th. Please support this great cause. 💖🐾🐾🐾
