Good morning! We just want to put out a friendly reminder to keep your pet on Flea/Tick and Heartworm prevention. In the past week we have seen a surprising number of patients with fleas, even dogs that only go outside to go to the bathroom and come back in right away can still get them! This is true for cats as well; even indoor cats can get fleas. If you are needing prevention for your pet, please call us at 815-853-4567!
*If we have not seen your pet within the last 12 months, they will need an exam before we can dispense flea/tick or heartworm medication!

We wanted to shout out a huge thank you to all the Linemen/linewoman and all of Wenona and surrounding areas for all of the help and support over the last few days. It has been a bit of a wild ride and a lot of back and forth with appointments due to power. Thank you to everyone for being so understanding! We are back to normal hours at this time. UPDATE: We have been restored power, it has flickered a little but we are up and running again for the time being. Thank you so much to everyone who has been understanding and working with us. We will keep you updated if we have any changes in our power!

Just like his ears Mr. Charlie Brown can't decide if he wants to sit or stand. He is such an excited sweet little guy that came in to update his age appropriate vaccines, and get updated on his Flea/Tick and Heartworm prevention!

Good morning! This week is the 4th of July! Which means fireworks, if your pet is on medication for their stress due to fireworks please do not forget to let us know (call/text 815-853-4567) so we can get it refilled ASAP.
Some tips to help keep your pets calm and safe this firework season:
1. Make sure they are microchipped, that way if they become scared and run off it is easier to re-unite them with you.
2. Try to keep them inside during the fireworks, most towns have it posted when they will be doing fireworks try to be aware of this when letting your pets out.
3. If your pet is stressed due to the fireworks try putting them in a room or placing their kennel in a room and turning on a movie so it is harder to hear the fireworks.

We will be closed on Thursday in observance of the 4th of July, we will reopen Friday at 8am. If your pet is having an emergency during that time frame there is an animal emergency clinic in Bloomington (McClean County animal emergency) and one in Peoria (TriCounty Animal Emergency). We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday!

Oh my goodness, can you think of a better way to start a Monday than with some of the cutest little Aussies ever?!! These little lads and ladies came in for their first round of puppy vaccines and deworming. They were so well behaved and snuggly the whole time!

It is a toasty one out there! And it appears the heat is here to stay for a while. Some tips to keep your pets safe and happy during this weather:
1. Do not leave them outside longer than necessary and try not to leave them unattended.
2. If they have to be outside make sure they have plenty of places to cool off and plenty of water.
3. They will be drinking more to combat the heat make sure they have fresh clean water as often as you can
4. If you can leave pets home!
5. If you do take your pet with you somewhere make sure not to leave them in the vehicle with the engine off, even if the windows are open, it is still too hot.
6. The pavement is hot, if you place the back of your hand on the ground and it is too hot for you, it is too hot for your pet's paws!

JUNE THURSDAY DISCOUNTS!!!
Good afternoon! This warmer weather is bringing out the mosquitos again, which means the chances of your pet getting heartworm is increasing! To try and help our patients prevent heartworm we are offering a little discount for THURSDAYS in the month of June:
If your pet is due for a heartworm test and you schedule a heartworm test and get a 6 month Proheart injection or purchase 6 months of heartworm prevention from us we will give a 50% discount on the test
OR
If your pet is due for a heartworm test and you schedule the test and get a 12 month Proheart or 12 months of heartworm prevention from us we will give a 75% discount on the test

**This can be done as a technician visit for established patients up to date on their yearly exam**

Good morning everyone! As a friendly reminder we will be closed this Saturday (5/25/24) and Monday (5/27/24). If your pet is having an emergency during this time period there are emergency clinics in Bloomington (Animal Emergency Clinic of McLean County) and in Peoria (Tri-County Animal Emergency Clinic). Name a better way to start our Friday than with some super cute puppies! These big boys are estimated to reach up to 150-180 pounds! Mom wanted to bring them in to make sure they continued their puppy vaccines and to make sure they are healthy enough to start training.
