SCHOLTZ CATTLE COMPANY is a second generation Angus Farm owned and operated by the Scholtz Family; Andrew and Lainie Scholtz, Greg Scholtz, and Emily Scholtz. Our South Dakota site is where Andrew and Lainie call home. It's located near Wentworth in Eastern SD and develops the show calves, manages donors, and markets show and replacement cattle. Our Minnesota site, located near Comfrey in Southwes

tern MN, is where it all began and is home to Greg Scholtz. In MN we manage our breeding program, calve out cows, and develop calves till weaning.

It’s been a fun year going showing with my two favorite show gals and they’ve had some success along the way! The biggest brag I have is their showmanship success and work ethic! Champion Showman is a coveted title and for good reason, it’s all about the time you put in.

Both have been in the top 5 and named champion showman at jackpots and achievement days! That’s a big deal and I’m proud of you both!

A few other successes:

- Class winner at Jordan Mack
- Class winner in Sioux Falls
-Champion and Reserve Angus at Madison
-Reserve Champion Angus in Sioux Falls

It’s obvious everyone is ready for pasture turnout. The grass IS greener on the other side and they always find the fencing mistakes. A.I. is almost finished here and bull/pasture turnout is in sight.

Anyone in the cattle business knows it takes huge help and support from family and the community you live in to get established. So, if I don’t say it enough, THANK YOU to our family, clients that purchase cattle and allow us to purchase inputs, and our friends.

One can’t help but take more cattle pictures when it’s this nice out in February. This is our last years show heifer and one we have high hopes for, as far as making a big impact on our herd. Another Nina cow to keep an eye on. *Scholtz Nina 211*

Happy belated Thanksgiving!
We had the opportunity to hit our first two cattle shows of the season Friday and Saturday. We were fortunate to exhibit the Reserve Champion Angus and fifth overall British heifer in Howard and a class winner in Watertown. We were definitely blessed with family, friends, and leftovers again this year !

Vivian ended her first year showing at the MN Beef Expo with “Cindy”. Super proud of how far Vivian has come and the job she’s done with this heifer.

Together they won multiple reserve and champion Angus titles during 2023 jackpot season. Now, we’re just looking forward to what this heifer will bring to the table in the future.

Getting to watch these three ladies do what they’re passionate about and fill a class with Scholtz genetics was a high for me this weekend.
Vivian had Reserve Champion Angus and third over all Sr Showman and Lilly was selected 4th overall intermediate showman. We’ll see if we can scramble a few placings next time they match up against one another.

Got back to our favorite activity surrounded by our favorite people yesterday. Went home with the Champion Angus Heifer from the Lake County Livestock Jackpot.

Couldn’t be more proud of Vivian and all our show families that are working hard this summer on their heifers.

I’m proud of this duo and both of the McAreavey sister’s! They’ve been doing most all their own fitting and working well as a team! On top of that they have both found some show ring success.

It was a great start to the fall show season in Winner, SD. These ladies walked away with a well earned Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer and second in a tough Angus heifer class. I couldn’t be more proud of the time they put in and how they started off!!

Lang’s did an awesome job breeding and raising the Reserve Champion angus steer at the MN State Fair.

Seeing a show heifer they purchased from our program turn into a valued productive part of their operation is really fulfilling for us!
