Meet Shrimp (who also goes by, Shrimp Scampi or Shrimp Lo Mein)! 🦐🐾 This sweet guy made an unexpected entrance into his forever home by strolling right up to his now-owners’ yard one day, and the rest is history! 🏡
While it’s heartwarming to adopt a stray, it’s important to first check if a cat has an owner before bringing them home. Here’s a quick guide on how to go about it:
1. **Look for a Collar or ID**: Sometimes cats just need a little help getting home. Check for a collar, tags, or a microchip!
2. **Ask Around**: If you find a stray, ask neighbors or post on local lost & found pet groups to see if anyone is missing a cat.
3. **Visit the Vet**: A quick visit to the vet can help determine if the cat is microchipped, and we can assist in tracing its owner.
4. **Give It Time**: Sometimes, a cat might just be exploring or temporarily lost. Give them a little time to see if they head back home.
When you find a cat like Shrimp, it’s always important to ensure they don’t have an owner who’s looking for them. It is also crucial to bring them to the vet for a check-up. A vet visit ensures that they’re healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, and free from parasites or other conditions that could affect your other pets or family members. Just like Shrimp, every stray deserves a clean bill of health to start their new life!
