Today is National Pit Bull Awareness Day (NBAD for short)! In honor of today, weโd like for you all to meet one of our sweetest clients, Louie ๐พ! He recently had the pleasure of hospitalizing with us for a few days.
Pit bulls get a bad reputation a lot of the time, but it is best to know that it it not based in truthfulness. Educating yourself on the myths and stereotypes that are typically spread around about this breed will not only be beneficial to them, but to every animal person out there looking for a pup of their own!
Did you know pit bulls are the most common shelter breed and they also make up 40% of euthanasia in shelters yearly? With that being said, almost 1 million pit bulls per year are put down, with a large factor being the falseness surrounded by them.
As stated in an article by Human Animal Support Services, โthey are the dogs who are in our shelters, but now they are being stereotyped or ignored to their and our peril.โ so give pit bulls a chance! They truly deserve it.
