Here are the defining characteristics of this level…
• All stairways, doors, and windows are accessible, not blocked by clutter
• The home has good ventilation and is free of bad odors
• The number of pets in the home is appropriate and compliant with zoning regulations
• Pet hair and waste are cleaned up and disposed of properly
• There are no visible pests like insects or rodents
• Appropriate alarms like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed.

Friday was another solemn day for Chicago as we lost another officer to COVID. Bio-One Chicago disinfected his home for his wife and children. It was the least we could do to help the family of a fallen first responder.

Chicago Police Sgt. Clifford Martin, a 25-year veteran and homicide investigator with two children on the force, was the department's second officer to die of complications from coronavirus, officials said on Saturday.

To the average house cleaner attempting to clear out the clutter filled home of a hoarder, this probably looks like junk that needs to be thrown away. Unfortunately, that's what another company did. This is actually a large stack of family photos, photo albums, yearbooks, and other items that our client specifically requested they NOT throw away, yet they did anyway. After she realized what they had done she asked them to leave, then contacted Bio-One. She quickly learned that by trying to save a few dollars by asking a regular house cleaner to help remove clutter, she made a huge mistake. Other companies simply don't understand how to work with individuals with a hoarding disorder. We spent several hours this morning sifting through the items they had thrown out while our client had tears in her eyes. The callous disregard for the items they threw in the trash was truly upsetting to all of us. In the end, we salvaged everything we could from the dumpster, and tomorrow we will begin clearing out the clutter from her home the right way, the way she wants us to.
