WHOA! ANOTHER FREE EVENT! Lexington County Animal Services is excited to partner with Animal Mission of the Midlands Pawmetto Lifeline and the The Humane Society of the United States!

We are planning our next event for November 23rd 2024. This event will be for DOGS only and with a limit of 3 dogs per house hold.

At this event there will be Rabies Vaccine vouchers. This pays for the rabies inoculation of ONE pet. You would take this voucher, with your pet to 405 Greenlawn Drive, Columbia, SC 29209.

We will also be giving out sterilization vouchers. These vouchers help reduce the cost of getting Lexington county residents pets spayed/neutered. To receive one of these vouchers you must show proof of appointment for sterilization and a valid ID.

The Pine Ridge Police Department, Gaston Police Department, Dirt Cheap Hauling & Services and Steve's Deli in South Congaree have partnered together to collect items for our neighbors in WNC that were affected by Hurricane Helene.

🥫🫘🍼🧃🔋🔦 Dirt Cheap Hauling & Services, Inc. has a 53' Semi Trailer that we would like to fill with items that are needed for these families. We have 4 local collection sites available to drop off donations. We want to fill it up and make a run to WNC ASAP. We will make sure that these items are going directly to these families in need.

Tents are needed, sleeping bags, blankets, etc.

Please make sure clothing donations are NEW!

REMEMBER, there isn't running water or electricity in many areas to wash them.

At this time, clothing donations should be for cooler weather of all sizes. *(Hoodies, Pullovers, Sweatshirts, Long Sleeves, Warm Jackets, Socks, Jeans, Thermals, Gloves, Beanies, etc.)

We are following several groups that are assisting in these efforts and are monitoring their needs as they may change daily. We will purchase needed items with the available funds and send them along with each run we make.

9/30/24 12pm Update: Mules and equipment are loaded, and the first big batch of supplies has been purchased and loaded as well. Thanks to so many for partnering with us so we can provide even more help!! We have two fully loaded trucks and 20' stock trailers heading to WNC for assistance!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻,
🙏🏻🙏🏻We have added our personal Venmo to use for those asking about helping now, as we keep getting reports of errors on the Venmo link we had listed. So you will see the link now says Michele Toberer. LAST FOUR DIGITS OF PHONE is 1383. We will put the other link back up as soon as it is resolved. All funds will be transferred to use for another supply purchase later today or tomorrow!

We have been overwhelmed with the amount of support and encouragement received about our efforts to pack supplies in by mule trains to those affected by Hurricane Helene. We will continue to return messages as we can. Many have asked how they can help. We're posting a Venmo link for Mountain Mule Packers to assist with purchasing necessary supplies and fuel for these efforts. Together, we can definitely make a difference to those inaccessible and in need! Again, we'll be headed out in the morning, and will continue to reply as quickly as possible to those in need!
