Thanksgiving is the #1 day for home cooking fires in America. Between juggling multiple dishes, family distractions, and high-risk cooking methods like turkey frying, kitchens become danger zones.
Keep your celebrations safe with these essential tips:
🦃 Thanksgiving Kitchen Safety:
- Stay in the kitchen when using the stovetop
- Don't leave home while that turkey's in the oven
- Keep a pan lid handy! It's your best defense against stovetop fires
- Create a 3-foot "safety zone" around hot surfaces, keeping kids and flammable items outside this area
🔥 If Fire Strikes:
- Stovetop fire? Slide the lid over the pan, turn off heat, and let it cool
- Oven fire? Turn off heat, keep door closed until fire is completely out
- NEVER throw water on a grease fire
- When in doubt, get out and call 911

Update on Robbie Rector - DES - Columbia SC

Robbie was airlifted on Wednesday from Roanoke to Atlanta where he will start his rehabilitation. Spoke to Robbie today he is doing great and feeling well. They have had him sitting up most of the day and he was given his keys to his new electric wheelchair! He told me he has been running the halls all day! Keep the prayers coming! I’m heading to Atlanta on Wednesday to make a visit.

Lifting one of our team members up in prayer. Robbie Rector (DES Columbia SC) was traveling to Ohio for a yearly bike rally with colleagues, friends, active, and retired firefighters. Robbie was involved in a motorcycle accident in West Virginia and has been airlifted to Roanoke, VA. Our prayers are with Robbie and his family through this difficult time. The 1800Board-up and The BELFOR family is praying for you sir!

Your local 1-800-BOARDUP of The Midlands crew had a busy Sunday afternoon after this house fire. Thankfully there were no injuries, but unfortunately three pets were lost.

1-800-BOARDUP of The Midlands has been a little busy over the last few days with a large tree that fell through two houses.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to Bear tree care and Alpha Tree Service, they did a great job in removing this monster so both roofs could be properly tarped.
The homeowners were home at the time but thankfully there were no injuries!
