Have you ever heard of this dog breed?
This dog is called The Xoloitzcuintle, or Xolo (pronounced like Zolo) for short. In English we also may know them as a Mexican hairless dog! You may have have seen this dog in the Disney movie “Coco”, as Dante! 🐕

In honor of El Día de los Mu***os, here is some info you may not know about the infamous Xolo!🇲🇽🐾

The Xolo is an ancient dog breed named after the Aztec god Xolotl associated with the underworld and death. This explains connections to this dog to El Día de los mu***os (The day of the Dead) on November 1st- November 2nd!🌸 💀 🌼

These dogs are high energy, so they need plenty of exercise. They are natural guardians that show exceptional loyalty and protectiveness to their owners. They also require special attention to their skin. They don’t have any fur so it’s important to keep their skin clean. It’s even recommended that they wear doggy sunscreen to protect them from sunburn!

To round off our staff appreciation week, we would like to recognize our lovely client care specialists and our assistant manager. The girls working the front desk are the first people you speak to when calling the office, they are the first and last ones you see when visiting our office, they are masters of troubleshooting the schedule to try and work in as many pets as we can see and a shoulder to cry on. Our assistant manager keeps things glued together and she really helps carry the hospital and fill in any gaps. Thank you all for all of your hard work. We appreciate you so much!!!

Here at New Baltimore Animal Hospital, we use this week to celebrate our entire staff-- Not just the technicians. Today we are going to highlight our Veterinary Assistants! Our assistants are the caring professionals that you normally see in the rooms along with the doctor for your pet's appointment. Day in and day out, they come in and provide the best care for your pets and are essential for the Doctors and Technicians because they are our "right-hands"! Please help us celebrate them today for all of their hard work and dedication.
