In this video Paddy is wrapping up a Board and Train. He would run off and chase the chickens around when let outside. We have done many weeks and training together before putting it all together. Building new expectations, creating trust and learning to be consistent is key to any program. We are so very proud of Paddy putting it all together and being flawless. His recall was great and not chasing was the cherry on top. We want to say thank you to the family for giving us this opportunity and for believing in the process and for following it. You put in the work. #sevenlakeskennels #petobedience #chasingchickens
Leo is one of April Rockstars. He is putting together some off leash obedience. We can’t thank the family enough for giving us this opportunity. We are changing lives one leash at a time.
Oakley came to us just like a young bird dog should. She is full of energy, pushes her boundaries and loved by her humans. We were given the opportunity to harness the energy, create boundaries and build confidence in her humans leadership. She is doing great after our board and train and her humans follow thru. Great job Oakley, you make us proud!!!
Bruce found a new home at the age of 5YRS. He came to us with behaviors that can be difficult to predict. This can be paralyzing for a family that wants to take their pet to social environments. Jumping into environments that overwhelm a pup that is under confident can produce anxiety and fear. Building a foundation that builds confidence will improve the emotional health of the pet in new environments. Humans can provide leadership to establish a standard for the pup to default to other than fear and uncertainty. Bruce is building that foundation and standard before making the jump into high distraction environments. A better future is in store for Bruce. We appreciate the opportunity to help Bruce.
Chief is a 9 month old Giant Schnauzer. He came to us a little out of balance. Chief lives with two young boys that are part of his pack. He needed a little leadership and a high standard to grow into the family member that was envisioned. Puppies are hard and with young children in the home things can get out of hand. Chief has made great progress in impulse control. Getting him out of the environment that has shaped his behavior and pushing the rest button has been great. Chief is a great dog and we have enjoyed his growth. That off leash looks good on you Chief!
Whiskey just graduated our board and train program. The success we have is due to the follow thru of our families. Keep up the great work!!! Thank you to the family for giving us this opportunity. #sevenlakeskennels #boardandtrain #petobedience
MAVA UPDATE: Mava is doing great. She continues to perform a high standard of expectations in new environments. Her expectations are becoming conditioned. Her family is so excited as they get closer to providing Mava a forever home. This girl is rocking her new look. #sevenlakeskennels
MAVA UPDATE:: Mava has made great improvements concerning confidence in dynamic environments and focus. She is learning boundaries that will improve her experiences in life. To continue her development she will be getting into different environments that will be positive. She finds confidence in the expectation we have developed. It has truly been a great experience for us watching her grow. She has a new beginning and that is exciting.
Stop by and see our selection of homemade treats.
So much fun working with this family. Two great dogs and people. Welcome to the area and we are thankful to have worked with you.
RIP is a 10 month old schnauzer that joined us for our board and train program. His human wanted a puppy to be with him in social environments. After he purchased the puppy the breeder was headed to the vet with the puppies for vaccinations she passed away in a tragic vehicle accident on the way. The puppies survived. He has been looking for someone to train the puppy to a standard so that he could go into social environments. We get a call asking if we could please help. RIP came to us wild without boundaries. We are so proud of RIP for his improvement during his stay with us. He and his human can now go to new environments together on or off leash. We work for moments like this. We were able to give more than just obedience, we are changing lives.
Well, this is a great example of a better experience. These two would pull down the street as if they were going to win the Iditarod. Nothing explains this experience better than Rusty and Gracie’s human. THIS IS STRESS FREE. Let us help you have that stress free experience.
Slick is in our board and train program. He loves to do some agility and today the student teaches the teacher. My first time doing agility felt awkward but he carried me through it. He has a lot of drive for this game and it gets him in trouble. Thank you to the family for setting up this course here and enjoying Slick in a different way.
Ozzy’s good life
Ozzy is in our board and train. He boards with us regularly when his humans go on vacation. He has his first trip coming up but his humans thought he may not be able to go due to his lack of impulse control, pulling them around making it hard for potty breaks. Well, Ozzy has proven he is capable and with the help of our team at Seven Lakes Kennels, Ozzy will enjoy his new life. We cannot wait for pictures of his new experiences. We are very excited for you young man.
Our goal is to provide each experience tailor made to the needs of our clients. We focus on listening to their needs and helping accomplish a different standard going forward. Our strengths are not limited to training the dog, we can also instruct the client. Providing knowledge to the client enables our promise. A BETTER EXPERIENCE. #changinglives #obediencetraining #sevenlakeskennels
This video represents our process works. Kona came to us as an adolescent that is very happy. He had been through some puppy training but needed that little extra proofing and accountability to known behavior. His humans could not take him places due to the pulling, barking at other dogs and wanting to sniff at every turn. We have managed to show him some impulse control with accountability to a high standard. Starting with some food (free shaping) to some e collar work Kona is on a path to maintaining a high standard in environments that challenge him. What makes our program includes educating the humans to follow through. We take pride in having both animal and people skills to help make a successful experience.
Some questions we get are concerning recall. Recalling your pet in high distractions can feel impossible. We understand. In this video you will see a drill that can be used for families to improve decision making. Make this drill fun with lots of praise. Verbal and touching praise goes along way. Treats can be used as well, can be kibble or high value. Mila is in our board and train program learning with her humans to recall.
Holmes is a young boy that came us lunging at others and putting on a pretty big show. He would pull his humans down the road. Giving him some structure along with teaching his humans leadership is working. Something to see in this video is the tight leash to a loose leash. Most times our pets think they are doing it right by feeling tension. As awkward as it is for you to feel the leash loose, it is for them as well. In this video you see the leash go from tight to loose as the human remembers to loosen it, Holmes can build confidence in a loose leash. Great job you two!!! Changing lives one family at a time.
We are so thankful for our families. We could not have said it better. Go show up and show out Vinny.
We all struggle to find something for our furry friends to do while cooking. Bones seem to work for us.
