Have you ever had a GloFish? GloFish are genetically engineered with jellyfish DNA to be fluorescent! Originally to be used in detecting pollutants, they’ve now been established in different colors and species for the home aquarium! Something we haven’t seen yet in the store until now!
GFP axolotls have been genetically modified to express green fluorescent protein (GFP) in their cells. This protein, derived from jellyfish, fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet light. The GFP gene was introduced into the axolotl genome through genetic engineering, resulting in a new morph of axolotl.
