We welcomed a full brother to Aloha West in March. He has big shoes to fill!

Bred by Bob Manfuso and Katy Voss, Aloha West was a six-time winner in his 13-race career, most famously taking the 2021 Breeders' Cup Sprint-G1 with an exciting late rally!

The Equine Repro class had a great foal-handling training day at Chanceland Farm! Thank you to Casey and his crew for training our students on how to lead those squirrely foals before our broodmares are due! Also, a big THANKS to Chanceland Farm's owner, Katy Voss, who always says "yes" whenever our program needs a field trip or learning experience at the track. Thank you Katy for your continued support of our educational mission over the years!

Katy Voss became a well-known name in Maryland as the trainer of legend Twixt (pictured with Voss aboard and Nat Johnson leading). Bred by her parents, John and Kitty Merryman, who co-owned her with Emily Franklin, Twixt won 18 stakes races in her 70-race career and was twice Horse of the Year.

Voss has spent more than a half-century involved in Maryland racing, as a trainer, breeder, former MHBA president, and Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association board member. She was recently elected MTHA president.

Chanceland Farm is hiring as we go into a busy season!

We have FULL TIME and PART TIME positions available. Experience with horses is preferred but skills necessary can be taught to motivated individual! Must have positive attitude, reliable transportation and love for horses.

Our farm has a broodmare barn and training barn.
Duties include but not limited to:
-stalls
-bathing
-turning in/out
-feeding
-grooming
- small odd jobs around the farm for maintenance

Chanceland farm has great opportunities for those looking to grow in the field.

One of the preeminent figures in Maryland racing for decades, Bob Manfuso bred many top horses at his Chanceland Farm, which he co-owned with partner Katy Voss. Among them were 2016 Kentucky Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia and 2021 Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Aloha West. He co-owned Laurel Park and Pimlico with Frank J. DeFrancis for several years and was instrumental in the revival of Maryland racing in the late 1980s.

He'll be honored on Saturday with the Robert T. Manfuso Stakes at Laurel Park!

Aloha West has been gearing up all week for his try in Saturday's Breeders' Cup World Championships Sprint! On Monday, he worked four furlongs in 47.40 at Keeneland.
