We are a group of individuals dedicated to ensuring that horses who come to us receive the love and care that they so richly deserve.

The horses continue to be involved in the teaching and enrichment of the lives of many people. All volunteer sanctuary for retired therapy horses ... and a few rescued friends

We had to say goodbye to our Beau Sheep this week…he was unable to walk due to severe arthritis causing paralysis in his hind end. His condition worsened with the cold weather and the pain meds were no longer enough. The Rainbow Bridge was the only option. Dr Weber and Ashley helped him to leave us peacefully and gently. We are so grateful for Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital
He was a very kind sheep who really loved being free to walk around and be with people.
He was one of our bottle lambs who has been with us for 9 years. His sheep brothers are very quiet and clearly missing him… as are we all 💔
We are grateful to have had such a sweet sheep in our lives.
Our dog Mimi, whom we lost a month ago came to us the same time that the lambs did… I know Mimi was there to greet Beau at the Rainbow Bridge

We have such wonderful volunteers!
Yesterday this group of young women came to exercise/walk/groom all of the horses.
The last horse to have a turn was Paw…he thoroughly enjoyed having all the ladies to himself! He is so cute! 💜

We had an emergency yesterday with our family guardian dog Mia Grace … aka Mimi.
To keep this post brief, we will just say that she went to our veterinary hospital at 8 am,
It was determined that she had a mass in front of her bladder as well as other issues. It was made clear that she could not be fixed, and trying to keep her with us would be cruel to her…with broken hearts we let her go.
Pam and Steve will post more and share pictures…we just want to explain her absence and our sadness.
We all love you brave, shy and gentle girl💔💔💔

Our Paw had a visit from his previous family, Sam and her mom Erin. They had him for six years before donating him to TEC in 2015 to work in therapeutic riding. He came to us in 2019. He is now 28 years old and doing quite well… he still enjoys new experiences as well as his afternoon nap! Did you know that a 28 year old horse is the equivalent of an 85 year old human💜

We found out today that our most senior mare JoJo loves classical music. Our volunteer Elaine had music playing and Jo stopped eating and came to stand with her to listen to the music… not bad for a nearly worked to death, saved, and more loved beauty 💜

Gigi comfort stall floor

Gigi 6/2024 in her new Comfort Stall… A generous donor gifted us 2 Comfort Stall floor mats. Gigi has a very old injury to her knee that ended her career as a race horse. She will no doubt find this to be a big improvement. It’s similar to a tempurpedic mattress for humans Steve, along with granddaughter Elizabeth and her boyfriend Michael installed these floor mats. We are grateful to all who helped with this gift!

How truly special animal relationships are for all ages, here are pictures from our 1st class back with the Granby Middle school students. We welcomed new student faces, as well as new volunteers along side all those who have returned! The class theme was proper introductions for the 1st meet and greet and understanding horse body language.💜
