September is National Puppy Mill Awareness Month! 🐶 🐾

Puppy mills are large-scale, unregulated, for-profit breeding operations. Puppies from puppy mills are often sick, unsocialized, and live in confined conditions. The adults are forced to breed and are discarded when they are no longer useful. Learn to recognize the red flags; together, we can make a difference and stop the suffering.

Hello there, I’m Blue! I’m a terrier mix, born in January 2023, and I weigh a sturdy 56lbs. My journey has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I was rescued from a shelter by a kind soul, but sadly, they passed away not long after. So, here I am, back in a shelter, waiting for my forever home.

My eyes, they say, can melt hearts. And my energy? Well, let’s just say I’ve got plenty of it! I’m a bouncy boy, always ready for fun, whether it’s morning, noon, or night. I love to run and play, especially outside in the dog run. Fetch is my favorite game, although I sometimes forget to bring the ball back.

I’m a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. I already know how to ‘sit’, and I’m working on ‘off’, ‘wait’, and ‘down’. I think a training program would be a great way for me to focus my energy and learn new things.

I am an anxiety warrior. Being in the shelter makes me a bit anxious. There are so many dogs here, and their energy levels can be overwhelming. So to help me get through my days and nights here, the awesome Vet staff make sure I have my medicine twice a day to help with all my stress and anxiety. I am hopeful that once I get adopted and go to my forever home, where it is not as loud and stressful, that I might be able to eventually stop taking my medicine, but only time will tell.

I dont just want to be my humans pet, I want to be their family! And I do love being the center of attention, so I’d prefer to be the only animal in the home. Also, because I’m still learning my doggy manners (like no jumping), a home with older kids would be best for me.

Before I came to this nice place, I stayed with friends of my previous owner and they said I did really well inside a crate. I keep my kennel clean, and only have accidents if I have to hold it overnight or a bit longer than I am able to. So house
training should be an easy thing for me to master in my new home.

So, If you’re an active person who loves walks and trips to the park, I’m your guy! I’m dreaming of a life full of love, fun, and adventure. If you think you can give me that, please fill out an application to meet me today! I can’t wait to meet you.

Meet Lex! Lex is a Mastiff mix, with an estimated date of birth of November of 2022. He is a puppy in a big boys body. Lex loves attention from his human friends buy prefers a dog and feline free home. He really enjoys his time running around out in our dog run and playing fetch(even though he may not know how to bring the toy back to you). Lex is quite strong and would need someone who is equally as strong to be able to handle him when going for walks. He is very treat motivated and and very smart so leash training and basic command training should go very well with him with time and patience. Lex is also very scent driven, so puzzle toys are great for him! Although Lex is not house trained, he does do a great job keeping his kennel clean throughout the day, as long as he is walked regularly. He will need some work in a home environment learning to get on a good potty routine. Lex is a big beautiful boy and because he is still young he can be a bit clumsy and goofy at times. He would most likely do best in a home with no smaller children. We can see Lex thriving in a home that is fairly active, or with someone who likes to hike or take lots of walks or runs. He does have a lot of energy and needs enrichment time each day to be able to get some of that energy out. This sweet boy is looking for his perfect human companion to spend the rest of his life with! If you think that may be you, please fill out an application today so we can schedule you to come and meet him.

Say hello to the lovely, Lizzie! This gorgeous gal was found out as a stray kitty and brought to us so that we could help her find her loving forever home. Miss Lizzie has an estimated birthdate of 8/1/21, so she's about 3 years old. This lovable girl simply cannot get enough love and attention. She wants to be with her people, right by their sides and holding a conversation much of the time. She is such a sweet and chatty girl who would make the best companion that anyone could hope for. She is a busy girl and likes to have things to do and she will follow the staff and volunteers around the room. She feels that her assistance is needed and she is more than happy to provide it! In addition to being a wonderfully outgoing and friendly girl, she is also quite the looker. I mean, did you see those gorgeous eyes? They are the most gorgeous and striking color! A truly unique and beautiful set of peepers! Lizzie is also a fun girl who really appreciates catnip, crinkle balls and catnip kitty kickers. And you will be her best friend when you offer her canned food. She is a BIG fan and would love to keep that going in her new home. She doesn't seem to be bothered at all by other kitties and she may do just fine in a home with other kitties, or as the lone, queen bee! We don't know for sure how she would do with dogs, but we suspect that she would likely be fine with laid back dogs who give her her space. Lizzie would likely do fine with kids as well. Would you like to meet the most gorgeous house panther in town? If so, please fill out an application and schedule a meet and greet.

Say hello to the darling, Tidbit! This precious little girl was brought to us through no fault of her own, but only after the person who found her could not take care of her. Tidbit has an estimated birthdate of 5/2/24, so she's 4 months old. This little girl is a total lovebug who just doesn't quite know that yet. When she first came to us, she was very shy and scared, but has come out of her shell more and more every day. Now she no longer hides in her little kitty cave, but instead comes out for love, scratches and pets. She LOVES to get attention and she absolutely lights up when she gets it. She starts purring up a storm when she gets love and it truly is heartwarming to see. We have no doubt that once she finds her forever person or family that she will blossom into a bonafide, top of the line cuddlebug! Little Tidbit loves to play as well as be loved and get attention. She likes feather toys, ball towers and furry mice. Tidbit would do great in a home with another feline friend and most likely with dogs as well. Since she's so young and adaptable, we think that either arrangement would work for her. She would likely do well with children too, but may take just a little time to warm up to them since kids move fast and are sometimes a little bit much for kittens to take. If you don't already have a feline friend for Tidbit then won't you consider adopting a second kitten? We have so many wonderful kittens right now and kittens to much better in pairs than alone. They have less behaviorial issues, are generally happier and you save two lives instead of one! Would you like to meet the terrrific, Tidbit and maybe a kitten companion too? If so, please complete an application and schedule a meet and greet once you are approved. There is no doubt that you will love this little darling as much as we do!

Meet Remy, a gentle soul with a heart full of hope. Born in June 2016, this 35-pound lady carries herself with grace and the promise of loyalty. Remy’s journey to our shelter was one of necessity, as her previous owner could no longer provide the care she and her two canine companions needed. Despite the bustling environment that surrounds her, Remy remains a beacon of resilience, with a touch of shyness and a whisper of anxiety.

When Remy first arrived, her coat told stories of neglect, with patches of hair lost to the pesky fleas that once claimed her skin. But those days are behind her now, thanks to the loving attention of our vet staff. Her fur, just like her spirit, is on the mend and soon will flourish once more.

Leash walking is an adventure for Remy, but she’s embracing it with each step and wag, guided by the patient hands of our staff and volunteers. She’s a quick learner, and her dedication shines through her immaculate kennel—a testament to her cleanliness, as long as the walks are frequent.

Nights are a bit longer, and Remy does her best, but sometimes she will have a dirty kennel. Yet, we see the potential for greatness in her house training, knowing that with a steady routine, she’ll find her rhythm in a loving home.

Remy’s past is a tale of companionship, having shared her life with two other dogs. She seems to have an unbreakable bond with those two, but when introduced to a couple of the other shelter dogs she seemed very stressed and gave us clear signs that she did not want to go further with the introduction. So, Remy will need to be the only canine companion in the home. She wants to be the center of your world and will take all the love she can!

Remy’s not just waiting for a place to stay; she’s looking for a heart to connect with and a hand to hold on her journey to forever. If you’re ready to write the next chapter in Remy’s story, come meet this sweet girl who’s ready to fill your life with unconditional love and grateful tail wags.

Meet Juice, the 75-pound bundle of joy and energy! This hound-terrier mix, born in June 2019, was found wandering solo until a kind-hearted person brought him to our shelter. Despite our best efforts to find his original family, Juice is now ready to charm his way into a new forever home.

Currently enrolled in our Prison Training Program, Juice is learning all the doggy basics. His handlers describe him in two words: fun and energetic. Juice is a goofy boy who can always make you laugh with his antics. He knows he’s cute and uses that cuteness to win over everyone he meets!

Juice loves affection and is always ready to give and receive it. With his high energy levels, he would thrive in an active home, perhaps with someone who enjoys hiking or running. When Juice gets the zoomies, he loves to run around until he’s completely tuckered out.

Though he’s a strong boy, Juice is working hard on his leash manners and improving every day. In his downtime, he enjoys chewing on a Nylabone, solving puzzle toys, or finding hidden treats in a snuffle mat. He also loves getting pets and hanging out with his human friends.

Juice is destined to be someone’s loyal companion for life. One meet and greet with this lovable goofball, and you’ll see what a good boy he truly is!

Hey there, future best friend! I’m Ruby, a fabulous Labradoodle mix tipping the scales at a svelte 55 pounds. Born around January 2021, I’m still a young pup with a zest for life and a nose for adventure!

So, here’s the scoop: I had a bit of a rough start. Picture this – I’m minding my own business when suddenly, I’m pushed out of a car! I know, right? Who does that? But don’t worry, a superhero in disguise (aka a good samaritan) swooped in and brought me to this awesome shelter. The staff here keep telling me I’m a superstar, and honestly, I think they’re onto something!

I love hanging out with the humans here, especially the volunteers who take me on daily sniffari – that’s a safari for sniffing, in case you didn’t know. I get to explore all the smells and sights, and it’s a blast! The dog trainer even took me home for a sleepover, and guess what? I aced it! She says I’m sweet, cuddly, and bubbly – basically, I’m the whole package.

I’m a smarty-paws who loves learning new tricks and going on epic adventures. I’m a “people dog” through and through, and I thrive on human interaction. I do have a bit of a mischievous side – I like to use my long legs to check out what’s on the kitchen counters. But hey, a gentle “Ruby, no!” and I’m back to being an angel.

I’m a neat freak when it comes to my kennel, and I’ve got some serious housetraining skills. I get along with other dogs and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I like to follow them around, but I promise I won’t chase them – I’m just curious!

At the end of the day, I love nothing more than snuggling up and watching some TV before drifting off to dreamland. Because of my curious nature, crate training would be a good idea when I’m left alone in my new home.

So, what do you say? Ready to add a little Ruby sparkle to your life? Let’s make some memories together!

This is the cute as can be, Mr. Meowski. This little cutie and his siblings were found out and all alone as tiny kittens. This cute crew has an estimated birthdate of 6/23/24, so they're just 8 weeks old. These little sweeties have been lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home, which is where they currently reside. Mr. Meowski and his brother, Simba are the absolute best of friends and can't bear to be apart, and she is very hopeful that they will be adopted together. Kittens do best in pairs, are generally happier, have less behavioral problems, and you save two lives! It's the best arrangement for everyone! Single Kitten Syndrome is a real thing! These sweet are both outgoing and total lovebugs. Being so tiny, these sweet boys would do just fine in a home where they are the only furbabies, or in a home with others kitties and dogs. Just remember to keep their tiny size in mind and to protect them from harm. Would you like to meet the terrific, Mr. Meowski and hopefully his BFF/brother, Simba? If so, please fill out an application and schedule a meet a greet! Remember they aren't at the shelter, so a meeting must be scheduled.

This gorgeous girl is the wonderful, Adeline. Sweet Adeline was brought to us through no fault of her own, but only after her previous owner was unable to care for her. Adeline has an estimated birthdate of 8/22/2022, so she's just two years young. This lovely lady is as sweet as she is beautiful. She absolutely adores people and the love and attention that they bring. She is such a little ham and will flop over on her back and show you her adorable tummy, in hopes that you will pet her. She absolutely loves tummy rubs! She starts purring from the moment that you come near her. Adeline is a playful girl too and loves kitty catnip kickers, wand toys and anything with feathers. She is also a fan of canned food and kitty treats. Adeline has met other kitties at the shelter and she seems to be fine with them, so she would likely do fine in a home with other kitties or where she is the star of the show and only fur baby. Of course, slow and proper introductions are a must for long-term success when introducing new furry family members to one another! She hasn't met any dogs since being at the shelter so we don't know for sure how she would do, but we suspect that she may be fine with respectful dogs who give her space. Having such a sweet disposition, we think that Miss Adeline would do great with kids. Have you been waiting for the perfect house panther to come along? Well, here she is! If you would like to meet this practically perfect girl, please fill out an application and once approved, schedule a meet and greet!

This sweet boy has an estimated birthdate of 5/31/24, so he's only about 12 weeks old. Silas is just the sweetest boy that you can imagine. He is super playful and a total lovebug. He is an all-around perfect kitten. He purrs from the moment that you go near him and he just melts into your arms. Silas loves to play too and his favorites are his ball tower and wand toys. This little cutie goes crazy for wand toys with feathers! With the wonderful personality that this little lovebug has, he would do great in a home with children and other pets. Silas would love to have a feline friend and we have lots of other kittens to choose from. So if you have room in your heart and in your home, please consider adopting two kittens. Kittens do best in pairs, are happier, have less behaviorial issues and two lives are saved instead of one! It's the best arrangement possible! Plus no one can play with a kitten the same way that another kitten can! Would you like to meet the sensational, Silas? If so, please fill out an application and schedule a meet and greet once approved!
