Say hello to our resident catwalk queen, Ruthie. This stunner was found as a stray kitty and taken care of by a kind person until we had room for her at the shelter. Ruthie has an estimated birthdate of 2/15/21, so she's about 4 years old. Ruthie is a lovely lady with a sweet personality. She likes to be brushed, which is a good thing since that long and lush coat needs a lot of care to keep it beautiful and knot free. Ruthie is a mostly laid back lady, but if she isn't a fan of something she will let you know, with a minor hiss. She's definitely not meanie at all, just a young lady who knows what she likes. She has been around other kitties and gets along with them, and seems to be doing well with the kitties that she is housed with at the shelter. We don't know how she feels about dogs, but she may be just fine with a respectful, cat-friendly dog. Since Ruthie does have some of her own opinions, she may do best with children who are a bit older and can read cues. Ruthie would do well in just about any home, whether she is the queen bee of the home, or shares the spotlight with other kitties. Would you like to meet the gorgeous, Ruthie? Say hello to the sweetest orange boy around, our buddy, Tw***ie! This sweet boy was brought to us after a kind person found him as a stray kitty, and took care of him until we had room for him at the shelter. Tw***ie has an estimated birthdate of 2/26/22, so he's about 3 years old. This ginger guy is as sweet and laid back as they come. He melts into the staff and volunteers when they pet him or pick him up. He is a low maintenance and patient guy, who doesn't ask for much at all, and he would be a wonderful addition to most any home. Tw***ie is a fan of catnip and kitty kickers as well. He likes to be brushed and sit next to, or on the lap of his people. Sweet Tw***ie would do well in a home where he is the only kitty, or in a home with other feline friends. He has been around other kitties in the past, and seems to get along fine with the kitties that he's met at the shelter. We don't know how he feels about dogs, but we think that he would be just fine with a respectful, cat-friendly dog. Tw***ie is an all around wonderful guy, and he is ready to find his forever person or family. Could it be with you? FRESH START K9 PROGRAM

This sweet girl came to us after her previous owner was no longer able to keep her, Ruby arrived with 8 puppies of her own. After raising her pups and doing an incredible job as a loving mom, Ruby is ready to find a forever home for herself! This girl is the sweetest, most loving doggo. Ruby loves car rides, belly rubs and has done great with other dogs and children of all ages. She’s housebroken and crate trained. You couldn’t ask for a better dog! She does love to dig holes and will need to be in a home without cats. She prefers a feline free household. Ruby is your quintessential family dog and we can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with her like we have.

**BONDED WITH NEBULA**
Say hello to the darling, Bucky. This sweet boy and his sister, Nebula were brought to us through no fault of their own, but only after their previous owner could no longer care for them. Bucky and his sister have an estimated birthdate of 3/19/21, so they're about 3 1/2 years old. Nebula and Bucky have never been apart, and they are a very bonded pair who must be adopted together. Bucky is a big boy, who currently tips the scale at 20 pounds. Needless to say, this is a very unhealthy weight for this good boy, so he needs to shed a some weight to get him back down into a healthy weight range. This sweet boy could benefit from some exercise as well. That can be as simple as playing with him with a wand or feather toy. Anything to get him moving, is going to help him out immensely. Nebula and Bucky LOVE Temptations treats, but those treats will need to be limited in order for them to reach their weight loss and fitness goals. Both Nebula and Bucky love to be brushed, and you will be their best friend if you do that for them. Since they are both overweight, it's hard for them to groom themselves properly, so the brushing helps them out with that too. Bucky loves naps, and of course his favorite napping buddy is his sister, Nebula. They would do great in a more quiet home as neither has been exposed to dogs, other cats or children. They may be fine with other cats, but right now they're a little hissy when they see other cats at the shelter. We don't know for sure how they would do with dogs, but our hunch is that they may not be huge fans. Introducing - Laila Ali!

The happy, fun loving, goofy pup!

Ready to make your heart melt with cuteness, love and THOSE EYES!

Size - Medium (26lbs) but I am a puppy so I’ve got lots of growing left to do

Other dogs - I do best with calmer dogs that have good manners!

Potty Training - I’m working on it! I’m still a pup so I’m going to need house training. Routine will make all the difference with me!

Things that I know! - Sit (I’m a bit of an expert at this one already!)

Things I am working on -Taking treats nicely. I LOVE food! which means sometimes I can get a little over excited when taking a treat. I’ve been working on this skill since I arrived at the shelter and I’ve made huge progress already, I would need to continue working on that once I'm adopted.

Things that I love - Food, Treats, Walks, Snuffle mats, toys and although I’m a little shy at first, I love people and affection once I get to know you!

Kids - Since I need to work on taking treats nicely and my leash walking skills, I would be best suited for a home with older kids that possibly have dog experience, that way I can continue my training at home!

Meet Our Featured Friend!

With Yoda like ears and eyes that could melt your whole existence, meet Hershey.

Hershey was found on his own as a stray and hitched a ride with our Dog Warden. He is a terrier mix, currently weighing around 56lbs, with an estimated date of birth of February 2017.

Hershey lives up to his name and has been very sweet since walking into the shelter. Most dogs come in a little unsure and scared but he pranced right in, tail wagging and ready to meet some new human friends! We quickly learned that he loves to give kisses (if you'll let him) and wants nothing more than to be best buds with everyone he meets.

Hershey keeps a clean kennel and was fully house trained in his previous home.

Hershey gets lots of daily walks and time to run off leash in our outdoor dog run and he loves it. He really opens up and becomes "free as the wind" with his zoomies. As. you can see in his pictures that we posted; he loves a good rope to fetch and run around with

Hershey would be best in a home with children over the age of 12.

He did great when meeting both a male and female dog. He was very happy and loved making new dog friends.

This is the practically perfect, Kazoo. This gorgeous young lady was found outside, abandoned, freezing and close to death. Thankfully a kind police officer found her and got her the help that she needed, and brought her to us. This little sweetheart has an estimated birthdate of 7/7/24, so she's just about 7 months old. She is thin and came from an uncertain past, but it's safe to say that she wasn't well take care of or fed as much as she should have been. This gorgeous little lady loves to eat and she's doing her best to put on some much needed weight. She loves canned food, and that should remain a staple in her diet so that she can put some weight on, and also get her moisture intake up. Kitties don't get enough moisture from water alone, so canned food is vital part of a healthy diet. In addition to being an absolute beauty, Kazoo is a total lovebug as well. You can tell that she is grateful for being rescued, and she shows her gratitude with lots of soft head bumps and purrs. Simply put, she is as close to kitten perfect as you can get. She has met other kitties at the shelter and she has loved them all. We don't know how she feels about dogs, but being so young, she would likely do just fine with gentle, cat-friendly dogs. Say hello to the gorgeous Loreal. This vision of calico beauty was brought to us after her previous owner was unable to care for her. Loreal has an estimated birthdate of 2/1/17, so she's about 8 years old. This lovely lady adores all of the staff and volunteers at the shelter, and she loves to receive lots of pets, attention and affection. Her other big love is Temptations cat treats. If you give her a few of those, then she will be your best friend for life! We have found that she likes catnip as well. She also loves it when she has the opportunity to look out the window to see any birds that might happen to be nearby. She would probably love to have a large cat tree that looks out of a window in her forever home.
Loreal gets along well with cat-friendly, respectful dogs, and gets along well with children also, but she is cat selective. Calicos are known for their big personalities, and opinions, and this lovely gal is no exception. While she is over the moon in love with the people in her lives, she can't say the same for her feline counterparts. With this in mind, this stunner will do best in a home without other kitties, but would be fine with a canine companion. Loreal would be a perfect companion for a single person, or as part of a family, where she can get lots of love and affection. She really is a low maintenance lady, and doesn't ask for a lot. Say hello to the most handsome fella around, Chumbawomba. This gorgeous boy was found as a stray kitty and taken care of by a kind person until we had room for him at the shelter. Chumba has an estimated birthdate of 2/15/19, so he's just about 6 years old. This sweetheart has acclimated to indoor life really fast, and he says that he never wants to go back outside again. Chumbawomba is a total cuddle bug, and super affectionate. He loves to be with his people, and he gives lots of leg rubs, and sweet head bumps when you're holding him. Chumba is as sweet and laid back as he is beautiful. Seriously, we are talking kitty lottery here, people! He is simply the best boy around! He gets along great with other kitties, and would do wonderfully in a home with feline friends. We don't know for sure how he feels about dogs, but he would likely do fine with a gentle, cat-friendly dog. We think that he would do great with kids too.
