WE HAVE A MCGRIFF UPDATE!
Just a little 1yr update on McGriff.....
I think he's still happy here. Oh my gosh and his personality....he's still learning new things...took forever to convince him it was okay to go down the basement stairs. Now he wont stop. Too bad I cant teach him to load the washer.....or can I???...Trying different foods has been fun. I think he thinks we're trying to poison him. Dude! Its peanut butter! I swear! Dad has taught him to smile when he gets belly rubs. Try to get pictures, but he seems to know and instantly hams it up. We have nightly races to see who gets to lay on mom's side of the bed. You can guess who loses every time, lol!

Want an energetic boy to get you out of the recliner? Look no further, Wyatt is here to help you get motivated!
With a face like this how can you not just melt in to a big pile of mush!? Meet Wyatt everyone! Wyatt is a terrier mix, currently weighing around 57lbs with an estimated date of birth of October 2022. Wyatt came to our shelter after a good samaritan found him and was kind enough to make sure he got here safe and sound. Wyatt is a such a gentle and sweet soul. He is very timid and sometimes a little afraid of situations that make him feel uneasy or anxious. But with time and a little patience he has really opened up and has become more trusting of all the volunteers and staff! Wyatt seems to have had someone work with him previously in crate of house training because he almost never has an accident inside his kennel space! He really loves to take nice long strolls and to have the sun in his face and the wind in his fur. He does seem to know 'sit' and its very treat motivated so basic training should go great with him. He is very gentle when he takes treats as well. Wyatt absolutely loves to be loved on and get all the pets and rubs he can from his human friends. We do know that he had previously lived with another dog, who was also found with him, and he has done wonderfully in meeting a couple of dog friends here at the shelter. He was briefly introduced to some of the cats here but only through the kennels and the dog trainer said he did very well, but we would still need additional testing to see if he could live in a home with cat friends. Wyatt is really going to make a loyal companion for some lucky person or family! If you think that is you, please fill out an application today!

Meet Roxy, our little old lady from HSMC!!
This perfect girl has checks in all the right boxes too:
-Friendly
-Loves walks
-Loves toys
-Can entertain herself if you are busy
-Roxy did wonderful when meeting other dogs her size
-And one look into those eyes and your heart just simply melts!
She came to our shelter, with her brother Rocky, after her owner could no longer care for them. She is a terrier mix with a date of birth of September of 2013. This does make Roxy a senior in dog years but you would never know it based on her playful energy! She is extremely friendly, affectionate and loves human interaction with anyone and everyone she meets. Even though she is a bigger dog, she is happy to sit on your lap, if you will let her. She walks beautifully on a leash, and listens very well to direction. From her pictures, she loves playing with her toys, and does a great job entertaining herself when she needs to. Roxy is great at keeping her kennel nice and tidy, even overnight when she has to hold it a bit longer. Before coming here, Roxy has had little to no interaction with other animals except for her brother. We did introduce her to a few bigger dogs here and she did great! She offered play bows and hopped around like she was just a puppy! So we think she would do well in a home with bigger dogs. Roxy is an amazingly sweet soul that is looking for a family who will love her just as much as her previous family did. If you think that is you please fill out an application today to meet her!
