Let's kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend with some puppy updates!!! The "Family Card Night" litter turned 1 week old yesterday. The puppies weighed in between 2 lbs 2 oz - 2 lbs 5 oz. 😋🐷 They should be some chunky monkeys, especially considering all 4 have a milk bar to themselves! LiLo gets mad when they are milk drunk, wakes them, & wants them to eat more. I may sneak her in to meet her grandpuppies & let her nurse them! 🤣Have a safe & wonderful holiday, everyone. Thank you ALL for your kind words & compassion. It's been a rather challenging week for all of us. We've really been struggling with the loss of baby Euchre. A child in heaven needed a puppy...
Today things took a hard left turn in a hurry. Euchre, our tiny runt from LiLo's litter started to decline. She didn't pull out of it, even though we tried so hard to keep her here with us. We are physically & emotionally spent.
We are completely heartbroken, but we know that this was all in God's hands. Please continue to pray for LiLo, her 4 thriving pups, & for our family. Fly high, tiny angel. 😭💔🌈🐾

Without further ado, please welcome the "Family Card Night" litter! Uno, War, Rummy, Euchre, & Pinochle! LiLo & Poke have 4 females & 1 male. The color of their names on the pictures are their collar colors. War was the only male.
Everyone weighed in around 1 lb upon birth, with the exception of our runt, Euchre. She was a tiny 8 oz. Don't let that size fool you. She's a little firecracker!
Lilo is doing great. She's a very attentive mom. She loves to crash the party by photoboming us throughout the shoot. 🤣

Hello, friends! We're back!!! Sammi is doing great. She's eating & drinking as normal again. She's been out plenty, and has even visited with some of her pack this afternoon. Mama Sammi had a rough night, but we are all finally home from the Veterinary Hospital. Sam had 8 healthy puppies yesterday, then stopped delivering last night. She continued to push on & off, but wasn't successful. She had to be taken to OSU for an emergency cesarean to extract puppy #9. He was too big & Sammi couldn't push him out on her own. Unfortunately he didn't make it. Sammi has some BIG pups. All weighed around 1 lb. Say a prayer for Sammi's healing & recovery, please. We will be taking the day to get some much needed rest before LiLo's litter makes their appearance. Stay tuned. We are ! 🐾💓

Happy Easter from KLR! The "Despicable Me 4" litter was weighed on Tuesday & had their weekly pedicures. The pups were 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 lbs already. The biggest puppy was Margo, but all of the males are on her heels! The yellow puppies toe-beans & noses are getting even darker & their angel wings are more prominent. Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us here @ #KLR! 🍀🐾🌈💚 The "Despicable Me 4" litter turned 2 weeks old! The puppies had their nails clipped, weights taken, collars switched, & deworming. Two week weights were 3 lbs 1 oz - 3 lbs 9 oz. A couple have started to peep slivers of their eyes open, but most haven't even started opening yet. They have wrinkles & puppy breath for days!!!
