Getting ready for Day Two of our Daniel Stewart Clinic! Yesterday started with his Sports Psychology Seminar talking about how to mentally shift to focus on Effort over Outcomes and to do the best can in the moment!

Then our two rider groups got to have some challenging fun playing games in teams while learning to put their best hoof forward. Today should be even more fun with a new set of challenges ahead of us!

Today was a perfect October day to say goodbye to you Slew. Bright warm sun, lots of green grass and a pony who got to enjoy endless treats. 27 years for a TB, 24 of them with your current owner, Kathryn. From dancing around the dressage arena with Kathryn to teaching the next generation with Amy at Firefly Training, you touched so many lives over the years. Our hearts break with Kathryn’s as we let you go with grace and dignity (and enough s***k to get loose and run across the field this morning 😝) Go gallop the green fields above Slew 💔🐴

Three of four stall walls are mostly done, just need front grates, back walls and outside metal sheeting! Drainage trenches are dug and electrical goes in Tuesday 🥳

The posts are all in!! Old gates got a facelift and are being hung, which means we are ready for stall mats, stall walls, and exterior walls 🥰 Trenching this weekend for water drainage and electrician comes next week.

Iron Horse Riding Center has THREE (3) stalls opening in October/November with the completion of our new barn!
Located in West Linn, OR

All stalls are 12x12 with stall mattresses or mats and all have attached runs. Stalls are cleaned daily and we offer year round turnout in small groups; our pastures are all 2-3 acres in size. We feed high-quality hay twice a day, plus owner provided grain. We have a large indoor and outdoor arena with a sand/rubber mix, as well as a round pen. Our outdoor arena and round pen have LED lights for evening work when the Oregon weather allows.

We also offer Rehab Boarding. We will work closely with your preferred vet, farrier, and other professionals to administer your horse’s prescribed rehab program. We are experienced with all types of bandages (including bi-valved casts!) and wound care, administering oral and IM/IV injections, handling complicated medication programs, and starting your horse back into work from hand walking, in hand physio programs, to under saddle rehab to get your horse back in shape. We have referrals from numerous vets, physios, farriers, and chiropractors that we are happy to provide as well as recommendations for professionals to use for your horse’s rehab. We have smaller rehab pens with shelter for horses that are allowed turnout but not a full pasture.

Open stalls are also available for riders interested in training or just boarding. Training and/or lesson packages are available for those that are interested.

Full or Partial Lease Available - In Barn ONLY (West Linn, OR)

Iron Horse has a school horse coming available for full or partial (half or one third) lease in October. The lease rate is a flat monthly fee that includes all routine care (board, farrier, vaccines, dentals, worming, and more) so there are no extra bills while leasing our horse. One Impressive Copy - 16h Paint
Copy is our safest packer with the biggest goofy personality. He is a certified saint with his riders and while he's about the oddest horse to look at, he does well in both Dressage and Eventing, winning over everyone with his steadiness and goofy charm. He is exactly the same away as he is at home. He most recently placed 1st and 2nd in Starter at the Caber One Days. He is able to show up through Beginner Novice with a full or half lease.

Training packages are available as well as individual lessons. Lessons are not required for boarding.

No pictures as usual cause I was too engrossed in learning but thank you Stable Body Physical Therapy for working with our two school horses today! Nothing better than having a GREAT Team behind our schoolies to help make sure they last in their endeavors to teach future horse obsessed souls 🤩🤩🤩
