firm believers that doing the right thing is not usually the easy way out...But it is the right way to live.

*update ~ ADOPTED
This little fish will be living happily ever after with a super nice family in Oregon City.
It is a tough time of year to be evicted, by the Sheriff, from an apartment, but that is what happened.
The tenant retrieved what they wanted, but abandoned their fish.
Thankfully, apartment managers found the fish and bought food.
For the moment this beautiful aquatic creature is safe, but needs to be adopted into a family who will do right by him/her.
If you think you might be that family, please text us at:

Thank you for caring.

* If you would like to be part of this rescue, please let us know.
A horrific fire ripped through a home in Aurora.
Initial reports were that all the animals made it out safely. .Some made it out. Others were not as fortunate. A few remain hospitalized.
We are thankful for our Rescue Partner, Meow Village who was 1st on the scene to rescue animals and continues to look for survivors.
It takes a lot to rescue one healthy Animal. . . The costs are staggering when they are burn victims.
If your can donate financial assistance, please do. Whether it is to us, or Meow Village, your donations are needed now.
PAWS is committed to taking (3) of the fire cats. The cost to us will be between $600 - $1,000.
Cats will be available for adoption soon.

If you have ever pleaded for "Someone" to help an animal - this is your chance to step out of your comfort zone and be the someone who makes a difference in the life of an animal.
We all have reasons that make it uncomfortable. . .

This is their story:
Sometimes Angels look like Regular People.
Tonight's rescue started with a post on Facebook
Two frightened dogs were tied to a fence, next to Train Tracks and close to the City Dump.
Posts like this tend to garner pleas for "Someone" to do something. Followed by helpful suggestions of various rescues, like PAWS Animal Shelter, to call.
It was 5pm when the video first surfaced.
At 7pm the dogs were still tied to the fence.
PAWS Volunteer Serena saw the post and even though it was cold, dark and raining, she put on her coat and headed out into the night.
The dogs were where the woman said they would be.
It was a desolate length of road and an eerie feeling washed over our angel.
Not wanting a fellow rescuer to be alone, a second angel, named Janelle, headed out into the dark.
Both dogs barked a frightened warning, but the Angels were not deterred.
The moment these pups realized they were being rescued, the barks quieted and their bodies began to wiggle. Tails beat the air and two dogs couldn't wait to get inside the car.
Tonight they are warm, dry, and sleeping on a sofa with soft music playing in the background.
If PAWS Animal Shelter can't find housing for them before 9am, they will head over to Clackamas County Dog Services.
If you would like to become an Angel and Foster these dogs. . . please call or text the Shelter at:

THANK YOU to tonight's Angels, Serena and Janelle.
Janelle is not on Facebook, but she can be seen at Bratdogz Pet Spa, in Oregon City.
Serena, when she isn't saving animals, is helping people at OsteoStrong Happy Valley .

Recently, PAWS Animal Shelter assisted in the rescue of 30+ cats after a Milwaukie home owner died.
PAWS has paid to have all of the cats Spayed and vaccinated.
Now we are looking for Homes to segue them into.
Barns, Warehouses, Wineries or Neighborhoods. . . anywhere mice and rats gather, that's where they want to be.
Will you share and ask your neighbors. . . If they can adopt a few hard working Felines?
