Sweet Carter Bear, we’re 5 days without you. It wasn’t expected, it was very fast, and we’re just now letting our shoulders drop and our breath go. We all know that you missed Buster too much to be here long without him, and we’re so glad you’re bossing him around again with the people and horses that beat you there. Thank you for all of your love and smiles for cookies. We miss you terribly. We love you, and our hearts are with you.

Four days after Anluan passed in January 2023, we woke up to a beautiful painted sky. Now, four days after Dusty, his little brother, has passed, we are greeted with another stunningly beautiful sunrise. I choose to believe they’re letting us know that they’re happy. That Anluan told Dusty to stop snacking for a second and let mom know he’s good now. Thanks, Guys. 💙

**Admiration Post!!**Just the other day a badass friend was here at the barn and she looked at me and said, “you’ve done it, you’re doing it, look at how far you’ve come!” And it was everything I needed to rise and grind another day. Those moments of support and recognition keep me fueled in an industry that can easily chew you up and spit you out. So, ✨ CHEERS ✨to the friends that keep us going without even knowing they’re doing it. Who support us and love us through our highs and our lows. Who see how much effort it can take to put your boots on, pour some coffee and get another day in the books. With love and gratitude 💙💙💙

To know Buster is to love him. His sensitive soul and his huge heart. He always knew when his people needed hugs and pulled you in if you were ready or not. If you are lucky in this lifetime you will know a horse like Buster, and he will change you forever. Rest in peace, Sweet Friend. Really excited to be spending time in St.Louis at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center learning and making connections. I’m so excited to come home and share what I’ve learned and put some new ideas into practice so we can continue to provide the best possible care for our ponies! Huge, massive thank yous to the Blue Frog team for keeping the circus rolling while I’m away! We would be nothing if not for you! And thank you for reminding me that it’s ok to leave the farm from time to time.

I thought it was probably time to introduce myself since I’m almost 100 posts in and haven’t yet! My name is Meighan and I’m the owner of Blue Frog Equine Retirement LLC. My exceptionally tolerant husband, Ryan, has worked his butt off with me to build my dream retirement barn and now I get to spend my days caring for elderly and/or injured horses. My favorite moments are spent just being with our horses and ponies and getting to know the amazing members of our little, awesome community. I love to read and learn new things- random, crazy facts are fun- and you’ll usually find me mucking stalls while listening to true crime podcasts. My background is in eventing, but I don’t ride much anymore because of an old injury and, honestly, I’m pretty busy with the barn. I have 2 daughters, Riley and Paige, who are my whole world and only one of them is into horses, while the younger one does competitive cheer.
