Furgiven Animal Sanctuary (“FAS”) is a nonprofit, no-kill organization that is dedicated to creating second, second-chance opportunities for overlooked dogs. Our focus lies in partnering with public shelters to prevent the euthanasia of dogs and local no-kill shelters by transitioning their long-term, left-behind dogs to a sanctuary where they can be a priority regardless of age, breed, or ease of

placement. At FAS, we believe that providing a more intimate, individual atmosphere for dogs in these specific circumstances increases their chances of finding forever homes while promoting the animal-human bond within our community of the Greater Midsouth & Tri-State area. In addition to being a sanctuary for dogs overlooked, FAS assists (through scheduled events) with free or discounted veterinary services, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and training support services for current or future pet owners and advocates. Our comprehensive adoption process and support services promote thoughtful, healthy relationships among animals and adopters and offer lifetime support to our residents. Animals in our care are spayed/neutered and receive all necessary treatments, vaccinations, and veterinary care for the duration of their time with us, regardless of adoption status.

THORNS HOLIDAY HWF ADVENTURE! 🐾

Thorn went on an adventure to Hollywood Feed - Union with us! He decided to get festive and join in on the fun as we set up our in-store Angel Tree that will remain up throughout the holiday season in support of Furgiven.

Stop by the store to check it out, and pull a tag for a Furgiven dog in need to make their holiday season a little brighter this year🎄🎁

Did you know - the Union Hollywood Feed location offers same day delivery to Crittenden County? It’s a HUGE perk, and amazing for those days when you get home and realize you need food for your pets, but want to avoid driving into Memphis. Orders can be placed online through the Hollywood Feed website.

We are so grateful for our ongoing partnership with them, and Thorn loves getting out into the community to visit new friends!

Know a trick or treater? Grab them a Halloween trick-or-treat bag while supporting local dogs in rescue care. We have two designs available, one with our signature wheelchair pup & iced coffee, and the other with our spooky ghost! All bags are hand made by our team, at the sanctuary.

REMI UPDATE 💖✨

We picked up little Remi from the vet’s office yesterday and she was SO happy to see us! She is acting completely normal on her front paw, and they were able to remove the broken nail off of her back paw and stitch her up.

She’s got a neon bandage until tomorrow, then her couple stitches come out on Saturday and she will no longer have impersonate a lampshade.

We are so happy to have her back home and we are incredibly grateful to all of you who made donations towards her vet bill - we were able to raise enough to cover it in full. Thank you!!

Our Howliday Gala is right around the corner, and we need YOUR help to make it a night to remember—not just for our guests, but for the dogs whose lives hang in the balance. This year, the gala will be held at The Post Event Center (114 N Missouri, West Memphis) from 6-10pm on November 14th.

This incredible event raises critical funds for our residents, many of whom are special needs dogs who have nowhere else to turn. Your sponsorship doesn’t just help cover the cost of the event—it helps cover the cost of hope. Wheelchairs, vetting, transport and daily care are all supported by these donations.
Whether it's a dog who has had a spinal cord injury, a puppy born with a neurological condition , or a dog who ran 'out of time' at their last rescue placement, your support makes this care possible.

We are happy to share that we will be hosting another Community Give Back event Oct 15th, between 12-1pm. Free dog food is available for families in need.

Please share with anyone who you feel may benefit. Our past events have been a great success, with thousands of pounds of supplies being distributed to local residents.

Chance, our metal dog that stands tall and proud out front of our sanctuary, has become an iconic, recognizable landmark of Furgiven. Many of you have come to know him as an endearing symbol for the love of animal rescue and rehabilitation. He’s a common photo spot, and we love seeing you enjoy him!
