Furgiven Animal Sanctuary (“FAS”) is a nonprofit, no-kill organization that is dedicated to creating second, second-chance opportunities for overlooked dogs. Our focus lies in partnering with public shelters to prevent the euthanasia of dogs and local no-kill shelters by transitioning their long-term, left-behind dogs to a sanctuary where they can be a priority regardless of age, breed, or ease of

placement. At FAS, we believe that providing a more intimate, individual atmosphere for dogs in these specific circumstances increases their chances of finding forever homes while promoting the animal-human bond within our community of the Greater Midsouth & Tri-State area. In addition to being a sanctuary for dogs overlooked, FAS assists (through scheduled events) with free or discounted veterinary services, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and training support services for current or future pet owners and advocates. Our comprehensive adoption process and support services promote thoughtful, healthy relationships among animals and adopters and offer lifetime support to our residents. Animals in our care are spayed/neutered and receive all necessary treatments, vaccinations, and veterinary care for the duration of their time with us, regardless of adoption status.

A HUGE SUCCESS! 🐾✨

Our Community Give Back last night was amazing. We were able to assist over 25 local West Memphis families in need with free dog food, cat litter, leashes, collars, bowls and toys for their animals.

Many of you shared your stories with us, from personal health struggles, to financial limitations and other extenuating circumstances. Some of you came to assist an elderly loved one or disabled neighbour. One theme was prevalent through every person’s story, their love for their animals, and for the community of West Memphis.

By assisting with supplies, we aim to continue keep these animals where they belong, with their loving families, and out of the animal rescue system. We are all a part of the same community, with the same goal of healthy, happy pets - in homes.

A massive thank you to our friends at Hollywood Feed - Collins and Max and Neo for their donation contributions that made this event possible.

FREE DOG FOOD/CAT LITTER TODAY 🚨

We are happy to share that we will be hosting another Community Give Back event this evening between 5-6pm. Free dog food, collars/leashes and cat litter is available for families in need.

Please share with anyone who you feel may benefit. Our last event a couple week ago was a great success, helping 49 families.

TODAY IS A BIG DAY 🐾

Total raised: $1300/$1300 goal - thank you!!

This little cutie is Thorn, and he is one of several dogs with disabilities who currently call Furgiven home. Our sanctuary is different from many other rescues and shelters, we operate as a resource to take on some of the most complicated and challenging cases as rescue transfers. These pups are often in situations where their current placements aren’t able to take care of them any longer, so we are able to give them their “second, second chance”. No one ever runs out of time here.

More than half of our population here has special needs, and they get to stay with us for as long as they need before they find their forever homes. Pups receive wheelchairs, specialist visits and any other rehabilitation needs during their time here.

Today is International Day of Charity, and we are hoping to raise $1300 for the animals in our care. With 11 dogs and 2 cats on site, that would give us $100 to put towards each animal for a need that they have.

With heavy hearts, we share that our sweet Dahlia peacefully crossed over the rainbow bridge this morning.

Dahlia was diagnosed with NCL4a, a progressive neurological condition, right after her arrival three years ago. She was given sanctuary status when her neurological decline became more prominent, and we knew that our team would love her through the remainder of her time - no matter how long or short that would be. We are so lucky to have had so many happy months with her thereafter.

Dahlia’s joyful memories will continue to make us smile. Her big stretches in the morning, the way her whole body wagged, her sunshine naps with Nugs and Bea, and of course - her perfect little Dahlia flower cruising alongside her on her wheelchair. Many of you in our community felt especially connected to her, and we are certain that her legacy will continue to leave joy every time she is remembered.

Rest easy Dahlie-doo, what a gift it is to have loved you 🌈🕊️

A TRANSFORMATION 💖

Alfie looks like a completely new dog after undergoing anesthesia to be completely shaved out. Thank you so much to everyone who donated towards his initial visit. He was aged at 5 years old, and has a hilarious little personality.

We have amazing news to share with you all, his bloodwork has returned and he is officially heartworm NEGATIVE! 🎉🎉

Alfie has since been neutered, and had the remainder of his standard vetting completed. That means, that once he is all healed up from surgery shortly, he’ll be ready to find a forever home! So exciting and an incredible surprise from his initial appearance.
