SD Her Royal Highness knocked it out of the park with this little guy. Highness as we call her is surprisingly a sweetheart of a maiden mare. Couldn’t be happier with her new bay c**t!

When the opportunity presented itself from our friends and mentors at RLR to co own RLR Rhinestone Cowboy we jumped on it. We thought this c**t was perfection when he first hit the ground. He is a red Sabino out of SD Empire and SD Alfy’s Ruby. We are proud to be a small part of this c**ts life. For us and our friends learning along with us…RLR Rhinestone Cowboy is phenomenal! 💙🏆

(It’s cold up here and are we a little biased…for sure).
Our blue blagdon mare SD Don in Style lost her baby last year. To say we were heartbroken is an understatement. Our friends at RLR in Edmonton, Alberta were kind enough to allow us to repeat the breeding to their 2023 international Gypsy cob of the year champion stallion SD Empire.
This guy apparently couldn’t wait for his debut trying to beat the heat down here in Louisiana. He’s a little early and a lot spunky with a striking single blue eye like both parents. Grandsires are SD The Don and SD Apple Jack. With undeniable quality breeding we are super excited to introduce:
LR Don Louis(“Louie”)
Outstanding up and coming young Gypsy cob stallion with presence we were very fortunate to match our mare Khaleesi with….his first US born foal should be special. Bred in England by the Down family of SD farms. Imported to Canada and owned by the Baird family at River Lane Ranch. We’ve never seen a bad picture of this guy and in person he’s that good.

This fella was one of two who started it for us with the Gypsy Cob breed. We’ve grown him from just a few months old. We’re proud of him and he’s developing into a wonderful trail partner. 4 years old this summer and not done filling out. 😳

Friends and mentors. Sometimes the same folks….and sometimes not. It for sure can be said for the entire Baird Krewe in Canada. We’re continuing to learn with every success and every hiccup. The guidance from up north has been immeasurable.
The first visit was an eye opener. RLR is a all hands on deck family machine. We hope they’re ready for round 2. More amazing food, “socializing”, horse education, laughs, and unrepeatable stories.

Almost a year ago our local Ag Expo was our first public outing. It reminds us that we’ve just started this journey and how much we have learned.
SD Don in Style was in foal at the event and ultimately gave us an amazing c**t….RLR The Outlaw Josey Wales(Outlaw).
So….yes we begged….and our friends at River Lane Ranch obliged. 🙌🏼

While doing chores to get ready for our Christmas Eve celebration our weanlings, Outlaw and Beau were not phased by the leaf blower 😂. We are continuously impressed with how chill this breed is!

Trudy is our stray Pyrenees that wouldn’t leave. You can frequently find her on the hill by the new barn where she can see the driveway, house, and pastures. She’s very fond of the weanling c**ts. She keeps our family and horses safe.

Well….this is a really tough decision…and our first of the kind. We’re learning we can’t keep them all(though we want to). Lol
In time, Beau will be looking for a family or individual who will love him like we do and develop a bond like we have. He is a grey like his dam. We fully expect him to grow into a tank like both of his excellent parents.

Gypsy cobs were bred to do drive and Jet and Wingman will be outstanding in time. They are still too young for a saddle so they enjoy it!
