For those pony fans wanting a pattern....
I thought about releasing mine, but decided against it. It would require that I continue to run a business which is something I want to avoid. Also, I feel a bit protective of my creations. A Wrap Scrap Pony is a special thing that I put all of my crafty little heart into. I want it to remain there.

However, I know that many of you also have crafty little hearts. So for those who want to give it a try, this is the original pattern I used when I made a pony for my kiddo, before I ever had dreams of a business. After I got lots of positive feedback, I changed the pattern to make it my own and thus began The Wrap Scrap Pony. My pattern pieces are different dimensions of the ones in this McCall pattern. I did several trial runs with pattern shapes (the curve of the head, the length of the body, width of the nose or legs etc) until I found what made for the best looking pony. You can do that too, or stick with what's provided in the McCall pattern.

My favorite part about making this first pony was the idea to use the threads from the wrap for the hair. For a Wrap Scrap Pony, I deconstruct about 10 inches by full width to get all the colors and then make a mini version of the warp in the mane and tail. For the eyes, I found an embroidery file somewhere that I can't recall. The wings and horn were something I figured out after doing some google searches and doing several pattern tweaks to get the right size and shape.

A huge help when working with wraps, is to draw out the pattern with a sharpie and then do a zigzag stitch over those lines prior to cutting it out. Otherwise, the pieces will fray and you'll have a difficult time sewing.

Happy Pony making!
