We’ve been keeping a secret. Meet Goose. He’s a mini poodle boy from our friends at BriarPatch Poodles LLC. He’s a hidden brown phantom merle and genetically clear. We will have all of his OFA testing done after he’s a year old. Until then, we have lots of time to love on him. He’s waiting to board his flight now and we can’t wait to meet him in person.

Meet Pippin, or as we like to call her, Pip, PipPup, PupCup, Pipsqueak, or Big B***y Judy!

Pippin is a retired bernedoodle momma on the hunt for a new bed to snooze in.

She is an absolute joy with people and wants nothing more than to snuggle next to you in bed or lay at your feet when you watch tv. She loves to give kisses and is very calm in the house. She is crate trained, house trained, and has been through a professional obedience class. She loves women and children the most, but gets along with most men once she is introduced.

As one of our most beloved dogs, it’s tough to let her go but Pip’s downside is that she is very dog selective. For her own relaxation she would prefer a home where she can have all of the attention, love, and mattress space.

Pippin is a black standard bernedoodle, already spayed, weighing in between 60-65lbs, but she is a dream on a leash and doesn’t yank or pull people around. She has great recall and is honestly just a very good girl who prefers being an only dog. She is currently shaved but when her hair grows out she requires grooming every 6-8 weeks.

Our last rescue pup of the year, Crackle, was set to meet his family this weekend but we had a bit of a bump in the road! One trip to the emergency vet later and we are set with loads of pain meds, antibiotics, and a 3-4 week recovery time for his mystery injury!

Both the emergency vet and our regular vet haven’t seen this type of injury before so we are treating symptoms and hoping for the best outcome!

He’s back home tonight and while he looks rough in the pic, he’s actually doing SO much better than he looks.

Send some positive vibes to Crackle over the holiday season for a speedy recovery!

Happy official retirement to Toast!

Toast gave us one very precious litter (the cheese litter) and we’ve been going back and forth about retirement for her so she can enjoy life as just a pet. We finally decided and she had her spay earlier this week and is now back home with her parents and sister.

Cheers to the good life Toastie! Enjoy being pampered by your awesome parents, and try not to get too annoyed at your sister!

This is SUPER important to share.

Our dogs and puppies have a solid foundation that we start working on around 3 weeks old. They learn that there are rules that they have to adhere to in order to get positive attention. They learn that crates are safe spaces and not a place of punishment. They learn that quiet time without people around is going to happen. They learn how to calm themselves or play quietly alone. Continuing to train and keep rules and boundaries are EXTREMELY important in helping your pups stay happy, safe, and content with being alone every once in a while.

Please love your dogs without making them co-dependent and anxious, and remember, we are always here to help answer any questions you have regarding training, but we do recommend that every new puppy (or dog!) owner take a class with their dog to bond and have another training point of contact local to you.
