Scam Prevention: Get references, get live video chats showing puppy and seller; take snap shot. Make sure they have friends on their Facebook profile. Get their vet name and phone number. Good breeders will agree to all of these things. Don’t expect anyone to hold a puppy for 10 weeks or longer without some type of deposit. That protects them from getting stuck for weeks and turning other people down for a puppy. Your refund should be returned if sale is canceled and of no fault of buyer. You should NEVER have to send them money for pre-registration that is not something that happens. I have had people try to scam me when I had the cash in hand but they still wanted money via some other method and claimed it was for registration purposes. Last but not least; if you catch a scam let the admins of the page know and be happy that you avoided a puppy that is probably poor quality and poor health- OR THEY PROBABLY NEVER HAD A REAL PUPPY.
