Memphis is a 2.5 year old, 17 pound terrier who's had a rough start in life and is just now starting to learn that people can be kind and safe. Understandably, he's cautious and a bit distrusting at first, but with patience and gentleness he warms up fairly quickly. Once he feels secure, Memphis shows just how much love he has to give--he adores attention, snuggles, and giving kisses.

Because of his past, Memphis can slip into "survival mode" when his food is taken away or when a hand reaches in and touches him unexpectedly. An adopter with compassion and understanding will help him to continue to build confidence and trust.

Memphis gets along well with both dogs and cats in his foster home, and one of his favorite things is burrowing under the covers with his foster mom for a cozy nap. With the right person by his side, this little guy is ready to blossom into the devoted companion he was always meant to be.

Memphis would do best in an adult only home, or one with older, respectful children. Please help share this post so Memphis can find his forever home. He has been with us for over 90 days! We are located in Jackson, MO - we adopt to approved adopters from any state - all dogs are spayed/nuetered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines!
