It was a long weekend but the dogs made it worth it.

It’s been a long weekend, but it was worth every minute.

Woody earned his first master pass.
Jax went 1/1 in senior (only ten dogs passed)
June went 2/2 in juniors.

Shout out to Rappahannock river retriever club for all the hard work this weekend!

When someone askes why I train dogs for a living …… look at this little boy and parents. I don’t claim to be the best nor will I ever be but I do give my best with every dog and every family.

June has been here 3.5 months and is running the T pattern and just crushed her first junior tests. I’m extremely proud of June.

Planning a repeat breeding!

The dogs that were produced out of the last litter have proven themselves. From Champ and Matti last litter there has been master hunters, several senior hunters and two of there pups did dock diving, one which got his master title in dock diving!

These dogs will be born with natural talent and will be able to be able to pursue in any avenue that you wish to do.

There are pups on a waiting list as we speak, if you are interested in a puppy send me a message and I will get you taken care of.

It’s been a long morning here . Momma and pups are doing great. We have 3 chocolate males 3 Chocolate females 2 black females and 1 black male! Since we weren’t expecting any chocolates we have chocolate pups available! If you are interested in a chocolate puppy shoot me a message and I’ll get you taken care of.

Puppies expected April 30th!

HR Tanner MH/ SHR Lady JH

Tanner is one pass away from his HRCH title. Tanner is 3/3 in finished and went 5/6 in masters. I personally trained Tanner and as a trainer I couldn’t have asked for a better dog in training, Tanner is a super nice dog.

Lady is (HRCH CHAMP MH18) sister…… lady is a super nice dog and is about 55 pounds and a retrieving little monster. This is lady’s last litter so I wanted to make it a good one.

A couple more hours and it’s over…. Until next season.

This has been a wonderful duck season for me. I got to live in the world of my clients. I started out with a young dog and got frustrated and ended up with a monster picking up multiples and picking up 200 yard cripples as blinds. What a year it’s been.

ACE!

Ace, wow what can I say……
Here’s a dog that HATED water, when I say hated water I mean it took me two months to get him retrieving in water.

Just because you buy a retriever doesn’t mean you can just take that dog hunting whenever. When problems show up in training we fix them here Southern Traditions Retrievers LLC!
Ace is out there doing his job in the freezing water now and his owner has one big smile out there watching his young dog putting it all together.

CHIEF!!

Chief is one phenomenal dog. Chief is a dog that came to training every day ready to give you everything he had, it didn’t matter if it was one hundred degrees outside or thirty degrees he gave you one hundred percent.

Chiefs owner calls me and you can just hear the smile as he’s talking…..”Chief is one hundred percent, he’s so quiet we forgot he was there…. He doesn’t even have a E- collar on!”

Southern Traditions Retrievers LLC is extremely proud of this dog right here! 🤌🏼✨💪🏼

We take a lot of pride in our dogs here at Southern Traditions Retrievers. Every dog that comes in this facility is part of our family here including the clients. We thrive honesty and family around here, we sure do miss Chief but I am happy to see this guy in his element.

Bodie!

That call I get every year after a dogs first hunt and the dog wasn’t prepared for their first hunt correctly.
When a dog is gun shy there is a 50/50 chance that dog will recover from the damage already done.

I personally worked with Bodie, we took baby steps and we came out on top! I’m extremely proud of Bodie!!
