The babies will be 6 weeks old this week...growing so fast! They are learning to explore with their beaks, & are starting to nibble on assorted foods I've offered. Today, they decided the didn't want to eat from the syringe, but eat like 'big birds' from the spoon! Won't be long & they will be leaving the "nest".

These little guys are growing so fast!! They are now mouthing different types of food & pellets. And have taken an interest in toys. They go to work with me everyday & come home to their 'play cage' (a plastic hamster cage). They are flapping & attempting to fly...& are just full of personality! Planning to dna s*x them this weekend along with 3 of my adults. Two of the creminos are still available.

Lovebirds are really starting to attempt to play with foot toys...my sons were gone for 5 days & couldn't believe the changes in them.

Plucked the little cockatiel way earlier than I like...it's only 4-5 days old...but mom squished the other accidentally (I hope)...so I couldn't risk it. At this age, one false move & it's over. It will be a looker, I'm sure...but for now...not so much.

The 4 baby lovies are growing fast!! They change daily & their personalities are starting to come around!! They are quite sweet & I remember now, how much I missed raising babies!! They are very busy & hard to get all of them to stay still for pictures!

Mai Tai & Hurricane's first clutch, from oldest to youngest. Hatched 5/22, 5/23, 5/24, & 5/25. Three Creaminos & a possible olive green (hard to tell quite yet). Hanging out with me u til they are 8-10 weeks of age. Pm for more details

My supervisor, helper, and sidekick in the aviary. I have thought about bringing him in the house, as a pet, but he is so happy to be able to fly about, check on the birds & babies, & help me with all my chores, that it seems he's happier out being the aviary's spokesbird. Darwin is the absolute best!!

Some eggciting news! We currently have a single cockatiel, hatched 4/30, with more to come. 🤞🏻 And we have 4 pairs of lovebirds with nest boxes & eggs..with 2 hatchlings as of last night...super excited to see what we have. I plan to pull the lone tiel baby at about 3 weeks, & then the lovies will join when they reach 3 weeks. So eggcited!!🐣

One year ago today...we had our building delivered...now we have 4 lovebird pairs & 2 cockatiel pairs laying eggs...hopefully setting up green cheek conures this weekend!

Serenity Veterinary Services

Dr Tuck does at home euthanasia. She travels to rural areas such as King William, New Kent, & Charles City to name a few. She is very sweet & compassionate. I have known her almost my whole life...and know that when the time comes for our oldest girl, we will call for her to help us let her go.

It has been a hard decision, but one that has to be made. I love my goats...every single one of them. But sometimes difficult decisions must be made to benefit the herd.

With a heavy heart, we have decided that Waylon needs to find a new pasture & a harem herd of his very own. He's so handsome, black with blue eyes, that it would be a shame not.

Waylon is a handsome fella...born silver, is now a deep black with silver highlights on his legs & ice blue eyes. Born February 2021, he has filled in quite nicely, however, we also have his brother...& every year during rut, they get rougher & rougher. We are worried they are going to accidentally hurt our girls or their kids. He should probably be an only buck, although he gets along with our LaMancha wether, or perhaps with larger bucks, as he bullies the littler bucks...he will eat from your hand & accepts an occasional pet...but is more concerned with protecting his herd & being a stud. Located in King William, VA.

I'm a little late this week...this little chunker came by to visit Friday...3 weeks old. 7 of them...👀 for 🏠s in a few weeks. Mom is Akita/Husky mix, Dad is a BIG white shepherd. Pm me for more info. They are in Providence Forge, Va. Gonna be big!!

When I purchased a local breeder's remaining flock (15 cockatiels, 2 lovebirds, & 2 Karariki) I made a promise to the flock, that they had forever homes here. And just like 10 years ago, I stand behind my babies, & will take back any that need to come back, no matter the reason!

So, when the breeder texted me the other day, saying that the owner of one of her babies, (now 4 yrs old), needed to rehome her...it was only right to tell her she could bring her to be with our flock

Meet Miss Tilly. She is an absolute sweetheart and very snuggly. She will be allowed to come out, like our buddy, Darwin, when I'm out working in the bird house. Who knows...maybe they will spark a romance...Darwin & I could certainly used the help finishing up the place!!

Today, I pulled the 2 cockatiel chicks from the nest to hand feed. They have learned very quickly. My youngest son is so excited!! I'd forgotten that this pack of dogs has never helped hand raise...some were very concerned for the babies! Our little baby Veloster Raptors! 💕🦜 I have so missed this!

Big news in the aviary!! We have baby cockatiels! At least 3! And this weekend we are adding Green Cheek Conures. A couple weeks ago, we added a baby Quaker, DNA is pending (fingers crossed it's a boy)...we are well on our way!! I'll get better pictures tomorrow...

Work in progress..still have another set of 3 cages to set up, finish last piece of flooring, hang curtains for loft, insulate & paint...but it's coming along quiet well for just doing weekends!!

Took the day off yesterday to go visit my dad for his birthday. This morning before it warmed up, I decided to explore under our house (have been under there for a few years..That's where I was storing extra pet stuff until I got my storage shed, which unfortunately was filled with my mom & grandma's things when my mom passed away unexpectedly.

Looks as if I always knew, deep in my heart, that I would start my aviary back up...I found weaning cages, brooders, toys, play stands...grabbed a couple loads to bring out to clean & disinfect, since we should have babies by the end of the month!

It's a work in progress. Now to finish putting breeder cages together & organize. So excited. Starting to look like I envisioned it, when I first bought the building. Should be pretty much straight by next weekend. Now we wait on eggs to be laid & chicks to hatch...then the real fun begins!
