Known locally as PLI, it has been a full service order buying company since 1964. PLI is an cattle order buying service located in the Black Prairie region of northeast Mississippi. Calves are assembled out of sale barns located in northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, and southern Tennessee. The calves are hauled in to the main facility every night, where they are rested that night, sorted and
rested again the following morning. When a load has been assembled, the cattle are load in the late evening hours where they can arrive at the purchasers farm, ranch, or feedlot early the following morning. PLI offers custom processing as a customer service to our patrons. Your specific protocol can be administered, our one prescribed by our resident veterinarian, Dr. M.G. You can also have your calves BVD-PI tested by our in house IDEXX testing laboratory. The cattle are handled carefully and quietly by a BQA certified processing crew using a Silencer chute to minimize stress. Attached to the main facility is a 60 day, 3000 head pre-conditioning yard. The cattle are placed in large traps where they can graze and are fed twice daily under covered bunks. The pen riders are very knowledgeable and experienced in identifying and carefully pulling sick cattle. In conjunction with the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, morbidity and mortality rates are closely monitored. Southeast Truck Dispatch is our in house truck dispatch service, located in the main headquarters of PLI. With generations of experience, they provide a safe reliable means of transportation for your cattle. Each truck is washed prior to loading at our very own truck wash, to ensure your cattle are hauled in a clean comfortable environment. PLI Kentucky is located iin the western Kentucky town of Hopkinsville. PLI KY specializes in the yearling cattle trade. They maintain a large inventory of feeders from throughout the Southeast, Midwest, and the Great Plains. They provide risk management tools to farmer and ranchers by forward contracting feeders.
