It all started with one city dog, a cocker spaniel named Shakespeare, who came to Reno with his owner to live out his final years with green grass and tranquility. After his death, his grieving owner decided to keep his memory alive by starting a non-profit in his name. This non-profit would help other animal lovers when their dogs and cats were suffering, and they didn’t have enough money for veterinary assistance.

Why we do what we do...

An elderly man with a very sick cat contacted Shakespeare Animal Fund. We were able to help get the medication the cat needed. Then he called again...

He confessed that he was a recent widower, was scared to death he might harm his cat and yet he had to make sure to give it the pill it needed.

He figured out how to administer the pill, but he had had no one to talk with in so long that taking a few minutes to listen to him helped heal both man and cat.

When you make a donation to Shakespeare Animal Fund you are doing more than helping cats and dogs. You are helping the people who love them breathe easier and smile brighter.

I would like to express our greatest gratitude to the kind ladies and gentlemen at the SHAKESPEARE ANIMAL FUND for helping me to provide much needed veterinary care for my very best friend, and family member Pony. Without the help of the SHAKESPEARE FUND, and their fast response, and financial help pony may not be as happy and healthy as he is today.
