Our potato harvester has arrived! No more digging potatoes by hand!

Last summer we logged 50 person hours of w**ding for the whole season and not a single w**d was pulled by hand, thanks to our steamer. But this summer is a different story, because our steamer broke back in March and we were unable to steam all of our summer beds. This year, since March we have logged 228 - person hours of w**ding since March, and with sedge grass there is no end in sight. 🤬 We have spent almost every single Wednesday w**ding for 4- 8 hours… not fun. Thankfully our steamer is back in action and the fall will be much better. The steamer has been one of best investments.

Nine State Correctional Facilities participated in the January Harvest of the Month. Broccoli sourced from and made its way to meal trays in smoked Gruyère broccoli soup! Food that nourishes us is a fundamental part of wellness and our hats are off the staff at Sierra Conservation Center for serving this amazing meal!
