Want to include your furry friend in the Halloween adventure? Here are some tips to make trick-or-treating safe and enjoyable for pets:

Costume Comfort: Ensure your pet's costume fits well and doesn't restrict movement or vision.

ID Tag Check: Make sure your pet's ID tag is up to date in case they get separated from you.

Pet-Safe Treats: Bring along pet-friendly treats so your furry friend can enjoy some Halloween goodies, too.

We have exciting news!
We are happy to announce a new doctor, Dr. Jenn Wilder, is joining our Skadron family!
Dr. Jenn Wilder has been a passionate advocate for animal health for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, she completed an intensive year-long internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners before working at a busy clinic in the west metro as well as a full-service house call practice.

With a focus on small animal medicine, Dr. Wilder is particularly interested in preventive care, dermatology, and geriatric medicine. She believes in the importance of the human-animal bond and strives to strengthen it through education and personalized care.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Wilder enjoys walking around the Minneapolis lakes, trying new restaurants or breweries, and exploring the North Shore.

Dr. Jenn Wilder will be available for appointments on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and every other Saturday, starting on Oct. 30th!

Fall brings muddy trails and hidden debris that can wreak havoc on your pet's paws.

After walks, give those pads a thorough wipe-down to remove mud, small pebbles, and potentially harmful salt or de-icing chemicals. Check between the toes for any stuck leaves or burrs. The changing weather can also lead to dry, cracked pads, so apply a pet-safe moisturizer regularly. Don't forget to trim the fur between paw pads to prevent ice ball formation as temperatures drop.

Healthy, clean paws mean more tail-wagging adventures! 🍂🐾

🌰 Fall Nut Alert! As autumn leaves fall, so do nuts that can harm your pets:

Acorns: Contain tannins that can cause stomach upset and potentially kidney damage

Walnuts: Risk of intestinal blockage and toxic mold growth

Chestnuts: Choking hazard and possible intestinal obstruction

Hickory nuts: Can cause intestinal upset and blockages

Pecans: High fat content can lead to pancreatitis

Keep your yard clear of nuts, and watch your pet closely on walks. Symptoms to watch for: vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and abdominal pain. 🍁🐕
