Lesson clients "Teddy", and "Butters" are both doing a great job with their Basic Obedience Lesson Package. Some of the first things they learn in their lessons are places stays, and leash walking. These boys are taking it all in and doing a great job, even in such distracting environments. Great job guys!!!

Attention Corso lovers!!! Ben is a 4 year old Cane Corso mix that is in need of a family. Ben was sent to us from Blake Sake animal rescue for a training program to help ease the transition of his next, and hopefully final adoption. Ben was adopted out to a family that unfortunately decided they could not keep him do to some minor behavioral issues. The good news is now he is with us for his 3 Week Basic Obedience Board And Train Program, and has already shown us how teachable he is. This big boy loves every person he meets, and loves to please his handler. He does currently react a bit at dogs, that is something we have already began to make progress on. Whoever adopts this boy is going to have a fully obedient, and housebroken dog. Message us or Blake Sake if you are interested in being Bens new family!

Update on our current board and trains Dakota and Ozzie. Dakota is doing great and moving on to working through some distractions, like other dogs and animals. Ozzie is a big playful baby that at first needed things to be taken slow, but now is getting a grip on things and really showing progress.

Dakota is a young female German Shepherd that is with us for our 3 Week Basic Obedience Board And Train Program. Dakota is very eager to please, but often didn't know the right way to get attention from her family. The good news is she's a fast learner, and is already seeing how obedience and focus on her handler can get her all the love in the world!!! Just a few days in and she is already showing huge improvements.

Ozzie is a 5 month olde Cane Corso that is with us for our 3 Week Basic Obedience Training Program. Just about 2 days in and he is already showing us how fast of a learner he is. Today he began learning how to stay on his "Place" until he is released verbally by his handler.

Bingo is a young puppy that has just completed his Basic Obedience Lesson Package. He can now sit, down, heel, place stay, and walk on leash/come when called. We are happy to find out that we will be seeing Bingo for another 5 lessons for Advanced/Off Leash Training! Check out little Bingo showing off his great place stay and recall.

We highly recommend taking your young puppies out to experience as much as possible. Letting them get accustomed to new environments is huge! Let them experience new people, animals, and sounds. This will help set your puppy up for success in future training. We took our Jack Russel Puppy for a visit to Chestnut Bay Equestrian to let her experience seeing horses and various other animals.

Update on little Bingo. Bingo is just did lesson 4 out of 5 of his Basic Obedience Lesson Package, and look how focussed and controlled he is. Today we worked on sitting and eye contact before entering through a doorway, and down stays next to other dogs. Exercises like this teach him how to remain focused wen excited and distracted. We can't wait to see how he continues to develop. Lessons Packages require the dogs family/owner to continue reinforcing what we work on in our lessons, so big shout out to Bingos family for always putting in the time with him.

The hardest part of our Board And Train Program is when we have to give the dog back to their families. After training with them every day for weeks you form a strong bond. This was our last obedience session with Stitch before returning him home to his family. As heartbreaking as it can be, it is very rewarding to see him excited to be home, and behaving well for his family. We will be posting a video from his go home lesson shortly.

Puppy Play Time!!! Not every training session with your puppy has to be strict obedience. Sometimes just getting them outside around other animals and different sounds can go a long way. Remember to properly manage these socialization sessions to make sure it is a positive experience for your puppy.

Take a look at this beautiful 13 week old female Jack Russel Puppy. We believe in giving young puppies as much exposure as possible. Bringing your young puppy to many different environments with you can help desensitize and set them up for success. It is also very important to make sure you properly manage these sessions to make sure it is a positive experience for your puppy.

Update on Stitch as we come to the last few days of his Basic Obedience Board And Train. Stitch was once very reactive and impulsive, and had quite a bit of leash reactivity. He also often could not focus when new people or dogs were around. Here he is demonstrating Place Stays and other basic obedience commands around 2 dogs he has never seen before. His mom was very happy with the progress she saw from him today, and can't wait to see how well behaved he is when he goes home. Marilyn Ortiz

Update on our lesson client "Duke". Before working with us Duke had no obedience, and was uncontrollable around strangers, and other dogs. Duke is now on lesson 4, and can demonstrate all of basic obedience, and can be walked around other dogs, and can even handle it when someone knocks on the door. This is how far you can come in a short time when you put the work in.... So shout out to Dukes mom for getting it done! We have 1 more lesson left in his Basic Obedience Lesson Package, and we can't wait see him and his family continue training together.

Update on our current Board And Train "Stitch". Stitch is about a week into our program now, and he is doing fantastic! He has taken very well to learning his Basic Obedience Commands, and as for the dog reactivity... We got that down to just a simple correction or two here and there. Its been a lot fun working with this boy and we can't wait to see all his improvements in weeks 2 and 3.

We have a beautiful Golden Retriever puppy "Misty" available.
Misty is currently in a Puppy Training Program with us working on housebreaking, crate training, basic obedience and socialization. She is 4 months old, and very social with both people and dogs. She loves to play, is eager to please, and loves to cuddle too. She is also being exposed to other animals such as horses, rabbits, and birds. Took a walk down to the Sayville SummerFest. Public places like this are great for practicing obedience with your dog. Remember, for a dog to be "trained" they have to able to function in all environments.
